I can't post my stats - I don't weigh myself (and I'm not willing to, I'm a recovered anorexic and it's still pretty painful for me to step on the scales, although I'm healthy and happy now!).
I'm currently completing the 'Insanity' workout. My favourite exercises are running, skipping (sounds silly, but you'd be surprised how good skipping is for your cardio!), boxing, belly & burlesque dancing and badminton. _________________ Always accepting of PMs. |

Years later, that phase passed and I found with simply working with horses and running a large property on a daily basis, that my muscle memory was always enough to keep me more then just 'toned', but none of us are getting any younger and after three years of treating my body like a night club (life got in the way), I finally had enough of myself and turned a corner.
My motto now is 'strong is the new skinny' because lets face it, I like to eat! Skinny was never going to be part of my equation and I would never ever starve myself to be that way. Wink
I now treat my body like a temple. I still do lots of core exercises because I lift weight repetitively as part of my work and need to keep my back protected, I supplement my fitness with cardio now so I don't bulk up too much. Twice a week I do 10kms of steep hill work and run 5kms three to four days a week and I eat a healthy low fat,low carb, lean protein diet (I do, on occasion spoil myself).
I'm 171cm and weight 64kg. (What's that, five seven-ish and 140lbs?) and feel great!

Anyone else like doing Olympic lifts? My main problem is technique, as coaching for them is a tad expensive. So even though I can snatch pull probably like 250 (last time I did pulls I was repping 225 barehanded, it's hard on your hands/takes a lot more grip power over conventional deads), I have trouble getting 105 over my head.
Lifting for strength is what really "did it" for me, though. I just found the physique goal not much of a motivator. Like I tried the whole bicep curls and tricep kickbacks and I just didn't find it fun at all. It's just a different vanity, I guess. But the feeling of all the weight, the "power" just feels so fun. It's like a video game to me, constantly trying to get more weight up, beating my last "score."
The only problem is, it's very easy to just eat yourself to lifting heavy weight, but maintaining a power to weight ratio is needed. I might not have a problem looking like Benedikt Magnusson or Louie Simmons if I didn't figure skate, but figure skating needs the power to weight ratio, and nobody would wanna see some 260lb powerlifter looking dude on the ice, so yeah, that's my main challenge. As far as my physique, I'm mostly happy with it. I wish my BF percentage was lower, so I could have visible abs, though I'm not really "fat" right now, I always have had a hangup about my weight since my teen years, so I kinda covet visible abs, as that's society's expectations now. My vacation's kinda screwed things up, almost no weights, and no ice, and mostly fast food. I gain weight fast, but can lose it relatively easy, too (compared to a lot of people.) But the vanity of lifting heavy weights, vs the vanity of looking good, ugh, so hard to balance it.
I'm tempted to try GVT, 10x10 at 50-60% of max, on my standing overhead press, to maybe add a bit of upper body mass (I'm only now starting to figure out how different muscle definition looks on me) and maybe improve my jerks/press. Part of the motivation for the added muscle mass up top is I do so much squatting and deadlifting and comparatively little upper body stuff, I look a bit like the people in the Squatz and Oatz cartoons. Anyone ever do a German Volume Training type thing? Usually I go for low reps, which seems to work well for squatting and deadlifting, but not as much for my presses. Did anyone here manage to gain strength going high rep?
Again, anyone else into Olympic lifting? They're really fun for me, for some reason. I don't know, I see OL lifters almost as like, real life super heroes. They put tons of weight (400+ lbs in the 180s weight class) over their heads seemingly like nothing, in movements that are fairly technical. I just saw it and thought it was so sweet and was like "I wanna do that!" I can't wait to watch the Olympics next month.
Oh well, yeah... _________________ Too kawaii to live...

The following accounts for the majority of the physical exercise that I get (besides walking):
Well, for a couple of years now, I have ran a total of at least 1 mile each week. I have gotten to the point where I can run a mile in under 7 minutes (this is coming from a guy who is 5'8" and 155 lbs). Recently, I have been amping up my running sessions from 1 mile to 1.5 miles per running session as well as the frequency of these running sessions from once per week to twice per week. Also, I do at least 25 push-ups on a daily basis for most days and occasionally weight-lift. |

I am 206 pounds or 93.63 kilograms. I run 3 miles everyday with my grand fathers dog. I work my upper body every other day. Doing pull ups and upper body plyometrics. I run sprints as well, 2 times a week. I hate eating healthy though, so I don't lol I eat pizza, pasta, drink soda, just munch out! I would probably be ripped if I eat healthy!
Upper body plyos are my favorite type of exercise! I am so lazy during the winter and pack on weight. So, when the summer comes, I have to work extra hard. Even though I have no friends or a significant other. Having a decent body just makes me feel better!
Also, I like being a decent size too. Mostly because when I was younger I used to get invited to parties just for the regular teenagers to jump me and beat me up.
I don't know if anyone on here was picked on and started working out as a result.
Not anymore lol |
Yes! I must admit I sometimes am weak-willed and...release my fluids, so to speak, so I have no energy, but exercise is my special interest. _________________ "I watched a change in you, It's like you never had wings, now you feel so alive" |

I started a new bench press program recently with lower reps and more sets. So far I'm up to 315 lbs.-3 reps
I'm also quite strong on military(shoulder)press and dumbell bench press. Another change I made recently is doing dumbell bench press the same day as regular benching although I don't do it every time. |

lol nice pic bro. Admire that stuff.
And what do you mean "regular" teenagers? What do you notice now that you didn't get when you were younger.
And also, I am in football and the summer conditioning beats the crap out of you, but you feel AMAZING when you finish. _________________ "I watched a change in you, It's like you never had wings, now you feel so alive" |

I usually walk a mile or two every day. I also do a lot of core exercises so I can keep my position on the rugby team.
I can hold a plank for about five minutes easily. I'm so proud of myself right now. _________________ Feel free to drop me a PM, but it may take a while to reply. I don't bite, though.

I like doing planks much better than sit ups, used to hurt my spine to do them (skinny) and am worried it could hurt my neck. _________________ Trolls exist! What i get now that i didnt get when i was younger is respect. I didn't get it when I was younger... at all! Not one freaking ounce!!
Yeah man I know how the training is. Not for football but I boxed for 5 years so I would work out 6 hours a day 5 days a week with a crazy diet. I was cut up like crazy. It was hell during but it paid off in my fights! Only lost 3 out of 15. I had to stop because of a broken rib in a match. It did feel amazing after! Actually amazing isn't even the freaking word man!
I started training for this local half Marathon a month ago. A half Marathon is 13.6 miles for those who didn't know. I have until September to get ready. I have ran 5k's before and placed anywhere from 23rd to 1rst. Never a half Marathon though. It feels awesome when you run. An authentic high! Completely natural!!!! |

I eat right, and that means a lot of good proteins and no fats, and very little carbs. That works best for me because I'm not as active as I used to be, so I don't need as much in carbs.
As far as the gym, I have a 3-way split routine: Day A; delts, traps. Day B; pecs, lats. Day C; Bi's, tri's, and legs. I do abs 7 days, and I alternate between long light and short heavy for the abs (light=350 basic crunches, and heavy = 8 or 9 sets of machine crunches and/or weighted leg raises at 200-245lbs). I've been at the size I want for several years, so I don't usually push all the way to fail on the last set of anything, but sometimes I do.
I'm standing in my avatar with a 590-lb siren head, which I'm holding with wrist hooks. I cheated; I didn't deadlift it, but I picked it up from a truck bed, and took 2 steps back for the photo.

I just noticed your name... KX250 rider. I freaking love dirtbikes. I have a 2001 CR250r. Not a big fan of KX though.
|
Me too... I don't ride as much as I used to, especially since in CA, they closed most places to ride unless you have a 4-stroke, and I don't get a thrill out of a 4-stroke dirt bike . I've had CRs also, and I probably like the pre-2005 CRs better than KX, but I happen to have gotten the best deals on KX for my last few bikes. I do have a '94 CR125 that I ride once in awhile on trails at our ranch, because the KX250 is no fun for slow technical stuff. In fact I can't get the KX250 beyond 2nd gear on my practice track. It's mainly like trials maneuvers... Rocks, and a lot of boots-on-ground hopping over rocks, and stuff. The CR125 is great on that stuff, and it's beat to crap, so I don't care if I bang up the frame, etc. I even have a couple of spare parts bikes for it .
Charles |
That's so lame man! I hate 4strokes! They have no balls and are boring! 2001 was definitely the best year for the CR250! After 2007 is when they stopped 2stroke production. Yamaha is still keeping 2strokes alive though! If I were to ever ride a 2stroke dirtbike, I would definitely go with the YZ. Those things are beasts! So much snap/torque on them! Those 250s are beast man lol I like the trails but its too restrictive for me! I need to harness the full power of the bike! I can't do that in a trail! We have this huge place to ride called Clayton's pit. It has sand hills that are 80 tall. Sometimes bigger. Cops like to come out there and chase us though. |

Me too. Planks and push-ups, and I kind of do this stance on my toes and my hands, and I'll usually have someone pushing on me. If there are two people available who are willing to help, one will lift one of my legs or arms while the other one pushes. It's really hard. _________________ Feel free to drop me a PM, but it may take a while to reply. I don't bite, though.
