Anti-anxiety meds have been proposed to me as an option, what are some experiences/opinions on anti-anxiety meds and aspergers?

Whenever I forget to take them, it had no bad effect on me like the impramine did. They did make my AS less severe while I was on them. I only took my anxiety pills if I knew I was going to be in a situation that would trigger it due to stress. But after a while I felt it had no effect on me anymore so I quit taking them. I was on other type of pills for anxiety but quit taking them too. They had no side effects on me and I didn't take them very long because I felt it was unfair I was trying to do something about my anxiety when it was my ex who was causing it and he wasn't doing a thing to help himself so why should I keep taking them? So I quit.

It is a debate that im having with myself at the moment, i can see how my reactions to thigns could be percieved by others at over the top (this took a while as i see my reactions as fit to the situation, and i react before i think), however i know what is making me go off, but these things such as work changes etc are things i cannot change... if that makes sense
