I have never felt this happy in my life. I have a job and have people that may be considered friends.
I also can finally drive and have my own car. I am more independent than ever before and life is not so bad. I found that being busy helps with depression because I don't have the time to sit and wallow in self-pity. I think that is the worse thing that anyone can do. My advice to everyone is to get out of your comfort zone and do things. Life can be beautiful. A couple months ago I was active an active member of WP and depressed as hell. I realized that the internet cotributed to this. _________________ “During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act" ~George Orwell

Here here! Congrats! It's true, once you get the ball rolling, everything seems to fall in to place. How was learning to drive, btw? Is it hard? I have a car, it's going to be fixed this summer, but I'm scared to try learning. But it's hard to live in the boonies without a ride. _________________ I'm a crab in a lobster world. |

I know what you say is true, but my circumstances make everything stupidly difficult. It is hard to get out when you have no money because absolutely no job wants you. It is hard to get even minimum-wage jobs when you can't drive because you have (vision) disabilities.
It is maddening, and my only outlet is cooking. I know the internet makes me worse. It's just not that easy to build a life sometimes. |

The internet contributed to your depression? Interesting concept. Maybe I should try that for a while - just as soon as I'm finished testing out this Windows 8 computer. _________________ If you think he's eloquent now just wait till he's sober!

I've been watching my car collect dust, thinking, "I'm gunna do it... tomorrow. And then maybe tomorrow after that!" It never gets done. I'd hate to accidentally run over the neighbors cat or an old lady crossing the street. _________________ I'm a crab in a lobster world. |

Congratulations Artrat !!
Getting out and seeing what life can offer is a great antidote to depression and sadness.
Even if you have to get around by riding a bicycle or walking.
Sometimes I look at these boards and shake my head, not much happiness spoken here. _________________ I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I feel my fate in what I cannot fear. I learn by going where I have to go. ~Theodore Roethke |
