| From my understanding, you can't be born without a soul, but you can be born without a spirit. The soul is the light of reality or consciousness in its purest form that everyone and everything shares. Spirit, on the other hand is the nature or personality of a specific thing or person. If someone's suffered a traumatic brain injury or in a vegetative state to where they aren't their selves anymore, it can be said that they've effectively lost their spirit. |

| There are no immortal "souls" that dwell with in us, we ARE the soul. |

Are you assuming that souls exist? What is your evidence for this?

Existence of the soul cannot be proven, its just something you believe in or don't. Most people literally equate it with sentience, something we know we have and possessed to varying degrees by mammals and other vertebrates, as stated before. We'll find out when we die (or we won't) so its all moot. On a biblical level, all creatures, miniscule and large have souls. This is stated directly somewhere in the old testament, because all the animals choose their forms prior to creation and are all servants of God, like angels. They are incapable of evil, only man is. I just bring this up because like many others I was forced to go to church when I was little and I was frequently told animals all go to hell or don't have souls. Very incongruous with the bible |

Can neither be proven nor refuted. Therefore any questions about "the soul" are empty and meaningless. It is a non-issue.

Nope. I don't even understand what's meant by soul. Originally it was just the animating force of the body (and the same word was used in Koine Greek for both breath, and soul). But it came to be understand that the body was animated by signals from the brain, not a magical air-spirit. So then the soul became the mind. But now we understand that the brain can be damaged, and this results in changes of personality etc. So what is the soul? I think it's just Stone Age hocus-pocus. |

A soul is a metaphore for a moral compas. Thiestly speaking. |
