Totally agreed.... Incidently I'm not even bothered if the music I listen to is made by outsiders or deals with aspergers related issues at all.

no Aspie CD could ever be complete without "How soon is now" by The Smiths. That could be an Aspie hymn.

Also from the Smiths, I would recommend "The boy with the thorn in his side" and "There is a light that never goes out".

Also lyrically a good aspie song is "Dear Prudence" by Siouxsie & The Banshees (or by the Beatles if you wish so, but IMO Siouxsie's version is far better)

put some Opeth or Porcupine Tree on there.

Saw Cryptopsy mentioned earlier. I can imagine what someone would do who's not ready for that. Listening to a melow stuff and that song comes on. Laughing

I think the actual question is "What are songs that you can identify with, and feel your AS is the reason why they're so more meaningful to you than they may be for NTs."

My answer:

People are Strange - The Doors, story of my life

also: Paintbox, an early Pink Floyd song written and sung by the keyboardist. Read the lyrics, it's like an AS trying to be NT, but disgusted by it and by NTs in general.

Well said.

Ian McCulloch - The Flickering Wall - can anyone say 'Intense World Theory'? (-it's a theory to do with Asperger's Syndrome, you can Google it) Laughing Razz
