Gee, then I guess you didn't have AS. The diet is supposed to help reduce/eliminate the autistic like symptoms. It would be funny if it caused everything, especially since almost everyone eats that kind of diet, and they have like every kind of reaction to it imaginable. The social deficit, language/logical enhancement, interests, etc... Are hard to explain with just a simple chemical. Steve
however do you see past your nose? should i get off the board because i have been symptom free now for about a month? isnt it your goal to be as normal as possible? or do you want more autism?

I wasn't suggesting yo should get off the board, or try to keep bad or seperating, symptoms. I was only saying AS coldn't be "cured".

Steve

actually i found the diet change improved my functioning quite drastically too. now, a 20% improvement might make one pass for normal but by comparison not another. i don't know. but if you have found a way to help yourself function better, i'd be suprised if you didn't take that route.

no way! did you learn nothing in your time as an asperger? *spits* of course it would be nice to pass, go for longer times in the general public without gratuitous hassle...

I almost constantly have a foggy mind due to an underactive thyroid gland...yet even when foggy I seem to automatically be able to spew out logical conversations etc. Odd, it is almost like some sort of robotic stream of consciousness at times when I have a really bad foggy brain day. It does get frustrating though as I used to be a lot sharper.

An NT friend of mine once made analogies of the brains of various students in the room with him to computers. Of me, he said I had the most memory but the slowest processor.

I don't necessarily agree with him fully. His observation is based on my tendency to take much longer to complete tests than other students. I give very long responses to the questions to account for this. I do not think this implies that I am thinking more slowly, however. I have a good memory and an obsession to post every detail I am aware of. This has been extremely difficult for me to overcome, but I've been losing interest in some studies and I have taught myself to be a little bit more concise. Because of my success with this, I'd say my processor is more capable because I run more processes on the work, and in being more concise I take less time than a lot of other students to complete my work.
