A wise man once said...

e. e. cummings wrote:
the great advantage of being alive

the great advantage of being alive
(instead of undying) is not so much
that mind no more can disprove than prove
what heart may feel and soul may touch
--the great(my darling)happens to be
that love are in we,that love are in we

and here is a secret they never will share
for whom create is less than have
or one times one than when times where--
that we are in love, that we are in love:
with us they've nothing times nothing to do
(for love are in we am in i are in you)

this world(as timorous itsters all
to call their cowardice quite agree)
shall never discover our touch and feel
--for love are in we are in love are in we;
for you are and i am and we are(above
and under all possible worlds)in love

a billion brains may coax undeath
from fancied fact and spaceful time--
no heart can leap,no soul can breathe
but by the sizeless truth of a dream
whose sleep is the sky and the earth and the sea.
For love are in you am in i are in we

I would say the main benefit of being alive is the fact that it's better than being dead.

Yeah. I mean, in death, you can't feel pain, emotional or physical, but you can't feel any happiness, or any other positive emotion, either.

the golden rule is most vividly impressed upon the spirit while incarnate. it is like the difference between reading about something versus directly experiencing it via total immersion.

I would rather be alive than dead because ice cream would probably melt in hell.

Well the benefits of being alive are being able to make a difference to the world, however insignificant.

Sorry friend, but I don't follow blind links to Spamhala or whatever.

But to anyone else, one benefit of being alive is you get to eat pizza. And, you can look forward to another day when you might again and maybe it will be the best pizza ever, the holy grail of pizzas so-to-speak.

The dead don't get any holy grail pizza.

Spicy pizza is the best! When I'm making it, I usually put chilli sauce in with the tomato puree! Delicious.

After sleeping through a hundred million centuries we have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life. Within decades we must close our eyes again. Isn't it a noble, an enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it? This is how I answer when I am asked -- as I am surprisingly often -- why I bother to get up in the mornings. To put it the other way round, isn't it sad to go to your grave without ever wondering why you were born? Who, with such a thought, would not spring from bed, eager to resume discovering the world and rejoicing to be a part of it?We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Arabia. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here.

Richard Dawkins

Who's going to wear your clothes? Or talk like you? Or act like you?

Have you been banned yet and why not? I wouldn't do it, if I had the time, I would find you too much fun time to play with. Now shape up and get good "Troll", or go away to some other place. Other wise, I might just find the time to take your brains out, turn them around, and give you a new perspective on life. Shoo!!
