"I haven't breathed a breath of air in fourteen years."

"No one can deny the fact that he has not inhaled for an exceptionally long time. I have observed you with this mask on - making it impossible to breathe - and you have lasted more than an hour."

"Hours, days, months, years, its all the same to me."

"How do you do it?"

"How do I do it? Simple, I do not believe in air."

"How do you sustain yourself? without oxygen you die!"

"I don't think about it, dat's how. If I thought about all the rules of biology I'm breaking, I'd have died long ago."

"So you sustain yourself on the conviction that air is a thing that does not exist."

"Dat's right."

"What about when you talk?"

"Words don't need air, words are words. Do you need air to write? I don't think so."

"Do you believe in food?"

"What kind of question is that? 'course I do. I'd starve to death if it weren't fo' food!"

"What about water?"

"Water is under high scrutiny and suspicion."

"Thank you very much for your time."

"any time. any time."

Wherever ideas come from.

There was a thread called "Do atheists believe in air?" in the philosophy religion and politics section, it inspired me to write this.

This idea is appealing to me. That if you are arrogant enough, you can suspend the laws of physics by nothing more than the power of your own conviction.

Reminds me of TWO threads on the PPR.

One is that thread you meantioned: "do athiests believe in air?".

The other was that thread started by that guy who is getting into "sungazing"- staring at the sun as a substitute for eating - to sustain yourself.

So... Apparently-you dont have to accept the reality of food either!

Food?

Air?

Who needs 'em?

However: apparently the jury is still out on water though!
