If so, there will be much talk in media about Aspergers.

"abc news talks of adam being troubled child with aspergers and ocd per family friend."

I seriously hope not. I'm Aspie, and I like my gun rights. I could see someone making an argument that we are judgementally flawed.

If the world ends next week bring it on, because I can't continue living in a society that's getting more violent, selfish, greedy and stupid every single minute of every single day. :x

In the USA, violent crime has fallen every year since 1994 (last data point 2009): http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/glance ... trdtab.cfm
People are also getting continually smarter.

And his, folks is why I consider that I have Aspergers but don't get an "official diagnosis".

You see, people are scared now. And scared people do what? Well, last time it got the PATRIOT Act passed.

Look in my post history and I said that we are only one school shooting away from something like this.

I think you may be overreacting, this is yet another case of someone with mental health problems who shouldn't have had access to guns in the first place. No different than any of the other shootings that have happened.

I am wondering what the media spin from this will be, however.

Groupthink is the new way, especially in the NT world. If one person with Aspergers does "the worst school massacre in history", then the people will call on new laws such that anybody with a diagnosis means "no guns for you!".

Of course such a restriction would be carried out by government, and do you think they will handle everything in a case by case manner? Even now military veterans who never had a diagnosis of PTSD are being denied in gun purchases and they have to jump through a score of hoops.

Do you think you will be treated fairly?

Care to point out where Asperger's is mentioned in the above article? It does not appear when I search for it.

RT just tweeted this can spelled it "Aspersers".

Yeah, I fully expect laws to be passed by people who won't even know how to pronounce it.

That is what I meant. Exactly what I did. The term does not appear in the article Disraeli linked to. It's not in the video either. So far it appears ABC news are the only ones reporting it.

Good thing I didn't post my Asperger's diagnosis on Facebook anywhere...I can see people coming to very broad and uninformed conclusions about the disorder as soon as this information breaks onto CNN and Fox News. I also agree that I value my gun rights and actually won a few shooting competitions as a kid.

If I were to tell my mom that I think I have aspergers, right now, my own family would probably send cops to my home.

And what few items I have would get confiscated ANYWAY, and the media would show up and call it an "arsenal" and my empty cases, of which I have a few buckets (that stuff is worth $$ and people leave it behind at the ranges) will all get treated like loaded ammo and they will say "he had 10000 rounds!" and all that.

Sure, there might be a page 33 blurb a month later about how I was no threat, but hey the iron is hot and everybody is going to knee jerk.

Nothing is more dangerous than a scared NT.
