The help: Halloween costume ideas "Page 2"

So to continue..

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920 movie)

Image

The movie revolves around a sinister hypnotist, Dr. Caligari who travels the carnival circuit displaying a somnambulist named Cesare. In one tiny German town, a series of murders coincides with Caligari's visit. When the best friend of hero Francis is killed, the deed seems to be the outgrowth of a romantic rivalry over the hand of the lovely Jane. Francis suspects Caligari, but he is ignored.

Karen / or Johnny from the 1968 movie, Night of the living dead

The story of the movie follows a guy named Ben, Barbra and five (including Karen) others whilst trapped in a rural farmhouse in Pennsylvania which is under attack by "living dead" aka zombies. (Johnny is seen early in the film as Barbara's brother, but shows up later in the movie as a zombie. This exact scene is quite known. Karen is the daughter of a couple who's hiding out in the farmhouse along with Barbara and the rest. Karen's appearance as a zombie later on in the movie is also as Johnny's is, one of the most remembered scenes - These movie stills of both Karen and Johnny below)

Fore more in look to their appearance, Here's a movie clip of Karen and of Johnny

And i really recommend you to watch this Johnny video:

I´ll go as female Sith-Zabrak. ^^ (The Star Wars Race that Darth Maul is from.)

Combine black leggings with woolen overkness (to give it a bit the look of Darth Vaders trousers), some flat black boots in "outdated design", the facepainting I will do with theatre-water-skin-colours, "demon" eyelenses with red/black eyes and the sith robe I am scissoring myself, with the help of an sewing machine and an detailled online explanation and schematics. :) Black leather-gloves in combination with leather wristbands.... In the end the things I needed to buy, were the facepainting colours, some Latex-spikes for the face ^^, and the light-sword.

I simply dont know, what to do about the hair. So I dont want to run around "face coated" all the time, but Zabraks dont have hair as well. ^^

On reddit I saw as well a great costume of an "Silent Hill"-nurse. ^^

That's one well-put-together costume :) I don't know how those Sith-Zabrak look like though, but they sound cool, considering how you explained the costume you are to wear. Impressive that you sew it all by yourself, i would never be able to do that, if so the result wouldn't be so great :P

Silent Hill nurse? What does she look like?

Silent Hill is a Horror Game, and the nurses are pretty typical for it, they look like that. Image

About my costume, I dont do it entirely myself, I think I used the wrong term, so its not a "robe", but a cloak that I sew myself, so its only about one part, that is pretty easy with the help of an sewing machine. (Only the head-hood is a bit more complicated, the rest is pretty streight.)

That would be a painted picture of an female Zabrak, I hope I manage it to look that way. :)

Those nurse costumes look scary O.o Cool though. Lol but i can imagine the head part of it will become a pain in the ass after a while though, especially if at a party, when the mask isn't of the kind you can take of very easily. :P

It's still some work though i imagine, like you have to be steady on the hand to sew it properly. So you'll still get credit from me for making some of it on your own.

By the way, yeah i've seen those Zabrak things before, some years ago in one of the very few star wars movies I've seen, i think it was one of those that starred Ewan Mcgregor and or Liam Neeson.

I got this idea from Schemer on Shining Time Station. He called it 'The Man with his Head on Backwards.' (Not to be confused with the very similiar 'Man with his Head Up his Backwards'.)

Image

Actually its kind of lame, but it is guareenteed to come in on budget (zero). And can be adapted easily for female use.

Image

This will cost some Moola but is one of those costumes that always works because it can be interpreted on so many different levels. But if you are going to do it, try and get the Boots right.

This is so weird. I remember her as being the scary little girl with the gardening trowel and now she nails one of the contemporary beauty trends.

Same kind of thing here. Mr. 'Coming to get you Barbara!' could pass as the member of a band or maybe an edgy English race car driver today.

If someone is interested, this would be the instructions I used for sewing my robe. Depending on the cloth colour it becomes a jedi or sith robe and if you alternate the hood you can do an Harry Potter robe as well from it. :) (And if you are responsible for creating plans in your company, and have access to CAD and an endless plotter, creating the paper pattern is pretty easy. ^^)
