Yes, a VERY dangerous entity. Do not look too deeply, or you risk being sucked in. Not only is it very dark and evil, but quite seductive and enchanting, that is the paramount if it's danger. merely paying attention to it can give it power.

Satan is absolutely necessary for Christianity to work. Satin is a core fear component of Christian dogma.

But anyway..on the Satan topic..in my travels around different churches as an anthropologist participant observer...

There is no talk about Satan in my Catholic Church..the one that i was raised in that i have been attending for about 4 months or so now...

And some talk about Satan in the Assembly of GOD church i attended a couple of times...

But oh boy..in the nice little Southern Baptist church i attended...

It was all about fire and brimstone..and even if you are 101 years in a nursing home..you are going to hell if you don't think ya need to be saved by US...

They actually talked about that from the pulpit in a serious manner...

Other than that the folks were really nice to me..but it's too bad they let illusory fear be the motivator of their life..

Instead of Love..that thing the man Jesus was talking about..the good news and all of that....

And oh how i do love this group...

It's great to face fear and the other dark aspects of life head ('banging') on..it don't go away any other way as far as i know...

That old mythological beast the devil..is actually the fear of the devil 'himself' as well....

Tricky little 'bastard' 'he' or 'her' is.....

Oh and one other thing..coincidently i just added some great wild face pictures to my 'i am a wild one' philosophy thread...

The devil also represents our undomesticated nature..as warriors and hunters as well...
