Well, Judaism requires only the males to be circumcised. So, maybe that balances things out.

Is this a serious comment?

I think it is sarcasm..

As a result, we encourage posters not to make insinuations about the existence of such comments, as - should they ever occur - they may not only catastrophically compromise the space-time continuum and bring about the end of the world as we know it (without an awesome REM soundtrack, even)... they may also result in more CAPTCHAS on WP.

Is there a transcript of that video anywhere? Or could you perhaps provide us with a summary?

I couldn't find a transcript. They have a good variety of people, including some Feminists, arguing back and forth about different things. That's why I was waiting for LKL and AngelRho to duke it out.

Here is another show that is only 19 minutes long:

Not quite as spirited as the first, but one of the points that arises: it is not the religion, but the culture that is sexist.

since most of them usually somehow fall under the guidelines of sociopathic cult group leadership one way or the other, I would have to say that most of them are unfair to everyone. just give me your money, and your stuff, and I will save you. Well after your dead anyways.

Having brought up Jewish circumcision: at about 19 minutes (into the video presented in the very first post), a Jewish woman points out that a woman who gives birth to a boy remains "impure" for a shorter period of time than if she gives birth to a girl, because of the "holiness" of the blood of the circumcision. Female blood, including menstrual blood, is wholly unholy. A Jewish woman who is menstruating has to go and isolate herself.

This seems to me to be unfair to the boys, who have to be circumcised. His mother gets her purity restored sooner, but he has to have his foreskin chopped off.

Yes Im pretty sure of it , it is another contributing factor to why I left Christianity because I don't agree with the women must be submissive to men BS! If god is real and has a problem with me disagreeing with me he can go F**K off!! Hes an @$$hole! Still waiting to be struck down its been years now and it has yet to happen thus proving he does not exist! I even flip off the sky and say 666 several times for a reaction but alas, there is none, because he does not exist!

Well..religions other than subjugating women..controlling folks through fear..

for profits through some so called prophets..and in general controlling reproductive freedoms...

are really designed in part to also find the truths about life..

but that does not mean they are FULLY successful...

that part of the effort goes on..

whether it is in philosophy..

or science..

or religion..

or politics..

and or all three or four or more..

Life can get kinda complicated..

ya know..NOW or simple

if ya don't 'know'...NOW

and instead live in a flow..

like ya cat or dog...

;)

The Buddhist..Monks and Yogi Dudes..
and the real historical Jesus..likely fitting in some category like that...
got that part
all or mostly 'figured'
out..
it seems..
at least...
to
me..
as a practice..
TH@IS
for
me
2
NOW

Sorry, AP, between the foot of snow on the ground and job interviews, real life has intervened and kept me away from the computer.

Haven't watched ay of the vids, but wrt. the OP I would say that all of the religions I know of that are more than fifty years old, or so, tend to have been established by men, for men, and women are disregarded to greater or lesser degrees. That said, there are *forms* of many of those old religions that have kept up with the times and do not require female virginity, 'wifely submission,' etc.
In general, the greater the degree of fundamentalism of any religion - Hinduism, Shinto, Christianity, whatever - the worse it is for women, children, gays, animals, non-neurotypicals, etc.

She can have it as far as I'm concerned…for now, at least… The cold has really been getting to me and I'm struggling to stay on schedule IRL.

Besides, LKL and I have enough sexual tension between us without yet another contentious thread making it worse.

you know, there *are* guys on WP whom I find attractive, but somehow AP et all never pick the right ones. Do you forget that I'm an Aspie, here, or at least something close? I don't do the NT pretend thing; when I say that I loathe or have contempt for something, I really loathe it and have contempt for it.

Oh, don't be so hard on AngelRho. I'm sure he's rather cute, in his own way.
