I have been in WP for about 20 months now but have never "introduced" myself. I wanted to do this because I know that I can come off as being arrogant and snotty and that is not who I am. A lot of the reason I don't "speak" to people is because I feel like I am being intrusive. Also, I grew up in that era when kids were supposed to be "seen but not heard." I guess it rubbed off on my. I know the way I use words can really seem robotic and sometimes I get out of control. There is more than one of me and I recognize that the hostile sounding one seems to get his way a lot. I don't like it when that happens. It drives a lot of people away. I did not learn how to use words in school. I dropped out of school at age 13 to begin working. I learned to write through the things I read. Books were my other world. So that is why I communicate like an cyborg. I am not the bad, cold person my writing makes me appear to be. I care about peoples feelings, even those who have a different ideology. Just sometimes "bad" me jumps up and rows the boat. I just wanted to say that because I know I seem like an a** sometimes.

Hi. welcome :) Even though you have known about this site longer than me! I think sometimes people assume that if someone displays robotic like behaviour, or appears arrogant and aloof, that they simply dont care about others feelings. I really think that's not the case, and caring isn't always about just showing you seem emotionally affected.

That's amazing: dropping out at 13! What did you do then?

You must have quite a story; it's been 44 years since you were 13. Have you gone back to school?

I got GED at age 20 and have taken college course off and on all my life but no degree in any subject. About 20 months taking Architectural Engineering when I was 31 years old but me drafting plans for a house is like an alley cat drawing plans for his own litter box. Not pretty.
