I tend to lean left on all social issues (and solidly in the progressive camp on some), but tend to lean right when it comes to fiscal matters (especially in terms of wasteful, inefficient, ineffective, redundant, and overinflated programs).

I'm a tory-hater. I grew up with Thatcher's sneery, haughty, hateful voice on the news nearly ever night - how could I not be? On a more 'positive' level, I consider myself a socialist. I am interested in (in)equality and work.

Can't go wrong with an 'x'. As Bender said: "'Blackmail' is such an ugly word. I prefer 'extortion'. The 'x' makes it sound cool".

Primarily left-wing.

I don't like this sort of dichotomy because I feel it limits the scope of political stances. However I suppose if I have to pick a side, I'm left wing. However, I have some libertarian leanings as well, which is sometimes associated with the right, but I don't support anarcho-capitalism - I think its the dumbest way to run an economy. But I also think communism is impractical and extremely oppressive over the populous and does not in any way give more power to the proletariat as such a system could easily become a fascist dictatorship.

I'm a practical liberal, I guess.

I am far-left, so far as to almost call myself a communist, but have nothing like the social approach of most Communist Parties. I believe in a socially libertarian society with a focus on individual liberty, autonomy, self-determination and diversity, and on grassroots democracy.
I do not consider this incompatible with collective ownership of the means of production and broad socioeconomic equality. Humans are social animals (something often painfully obvious to us aspies) and naturally form communities which often work for the mutual benefit of all in the community (something destroyed by hierarchy and capitalism). I view the individualist-collectivist dichotomy as a false one; individual liberty can only be achieved through the society. In a 'libertarian' right-wing society, the majority of people, constrained by poverty and submitting to wage slavery to make a living, probably ruled by an oligarchic elite, are not really free.
So all in all, I am on the left, but the the anarchist-left.
I also believe that a boiled egg should be cracked on the small end.

Where does Ralph Nader stand in American politics? I know he's an independent, but that's all I know.

Nader's left of Karl Marx! Well, that's an exaggeration, but as a former consumer advocate, he's pretty liberal.
