Don't knock Europe! The scenery in Afghanistan is nothing like this.

It's interesting that you choose to trust and identify with the U.S government in matters of War strategy, when the rest of the time you are deeply suspicious of it. Why the discrepancy?

Well, that was my answer.

I usually get that sort of evasion from people who haven't got an answer, but lack the guts to admit it. But here I see an alternative, that you are trying to tell me you believe might is right, but you don't want to make it clear. Anything else?

Military power is just fine if applied generously enough.

That would fit a belief that might is right. But I think military power follows economic power, with a time lag. And America's economic power seems to decline. So good luck with that attitude. You'll need it.

Same can be said about the left being all for government, except when it comes to the military. The part of the government you love and believe should be the source of all hope, love, wisdom, and prosperity deals with domestic issues. The military deals with non-domestic issues.

A neighbor in South Ar was an old clock maker. On all the walls of his house were cuckoo clocks,of all sizes. The coolest one was tiny, you could only imagine the craftsmanship involved. He never sold any of them.He was a first generation immigrant from Germany.I've never seen clocks like that anywhere else, they were beautiful, all hand carved.
So,the way I look at it,I would have brought one of those clocks home.
As a kid I remember seeing the ones that forerold the weather, the people wouldn't come out of their house.
