Hello I am new to this site. I hope to meet some of you and share experiences about being on (or near) the spectrum.
I am currently doing a job search and it is a struggle. After reading up on ASD, I finally realized why I had so much trouble on the job (fast food, customer service, and answering phones, being micromanaged) is not my cup of tea. I get the job (the technical part) down well, but have been just up and "fired" for no apparent reason even as the most productive worker. I now understand and know what social cues (at one time I did not know they existed) and am becoming more aware of them.
The best job I have had when I was enlisted as a medical records technician (the job is very routine and every one was left to do their job.
Any tips? My interests are fashion design, graphic design, computers, ice hockey.
My passions: art and design, dancing, yoga, desire to learn, traveling, and following Christ.
I like to fix/create/build things and can be left unsupervised for long periods of time to concentrate on a task. I am a highly independent person (INTJ personality) .
