Okay, this may sound weird, but for as long as I can remember, if I swing my leg( say, at a desk) I have to swing my other leg the same amount of times, otherwise, it feels "uneven".

It isn't always legs, either. If I tense a part of my back, I have to do it to the other side, too. When I'm practicing for piano, each finger has to be stretched a certain amount of times. If anybody touches me (say, on a arm) , I'll have to touch the other arm too, otherwise I'll go crazy, because my "skin feels uneven"
Does anybody have and idea why I do this??
I don't think I have OCD, even if I like even numbers, sameness, and evenness. I have diagnosed aspergers.

:D thanks for the help :D

I get things like this, too. :?
I'm sorry, I don't know why, though. Just thought I'd say.

It sounds like it could be a mild form of OCD, have you talked to a professional about it? Dose it bother you that you do it? Does it interfere with your daily life in a negative way?

The most promising therapy for PTSD is a technique called EMDR. You can be healed very quickly. You will always have memories, but you can still reprogram yourself so that you live a happy and normal existence.

Many ppl do that, it's quite normal actually. It's just worrying when it gets an obsession that you HAVE TO do that or when you count your steps for example, don't remember the numer or something and have to go back to count again. Than it's getting an obsession. But if you just like to be a bit more even or count things from time to time. That's fine. There is no need to pathologice every human behaviour. We once talked wit behaviours like that in a psychology class I once attended and many there had behaviours like this from time to time actually and most werent dx with anything. So if it doesn't cause you any stress or anything, it's totally fine in my opinion. :D

Okay. I'm quite glad to know someone else has the same thing happen as well.
I think so too, it's one of my favourite songs.

I know the feeling of being "uneven." I don't think it really qualifies as OCD since it is pretty mild and never problematic. I would just call myself a symmetry enthusiast.

If I go into a room with 2 doors, I have to walk out the door I came in, or the room is off balance for me.

Google cross brain dominance and see if that seems relevant to you.

I have some "OCD" behaviors too, like taking 7 sips at a water fountain, but I don't actually have OCD. There seems to be an occasional mild overlap of OCD symptoms in people with AS.

I do this exact same thing every second of my life. Things can feel uneven on my skin and I have to do all this weird stuff to fix it. Typing on a computer is hard because all your fingers do different things so I have to jump through hoops to make things feel right. I have to touch things with both hands. I can't turn around in a full circle without turning back the other way because it feels like I'm being tied up by an invisible rope. I even have to see things from both sides of my vision; if I see it farther to the right, I have to turn my head until I've seen it to the left as well. It's been a special pain recently because I got a new game system for my room (it's a Gamecube; I prefer the older games) and playing then involves doing different things with each hand on the opposite sides of the controller. I keep virtually suiciding because I have to hit the jump button a second time with the other hand at a completely inappropriate time to jump. Needless to say, I've caused Sonic to drown of go plummeting to the Earth several, several times over these last few days.

If anyone has an idea how to help with this, please share. Next time we see my doctor we're going to try and get him to help us figure it out and maybe adjust my meds, but I'm really just looking for any ideas period.
