I'm a librarian. My reading tastes shifted increasingly towards nonfiction as I got older, though I still enjoy a good work of historical fiction or a classic. I tend to get my fiction quota through watching movies or going to the theater. I read in wide variety of subject areas world history, natural history, paleontology, archaeology, religion, true crime, and more.

I read in lots of places one of the symptons is that autistic people don't like fiction, but that sounds like nonsense.

I write fiction but read non-fiction (usually history, politics or philosophy)

Completely non-fiction - just about anything and everything. But have never managed a single chapter of fiction in my life - it just seems like a mad tangle of
words - and I've got no idea who is who or what is supposed to be going on.

As a child I probably would have said fiction, but at this point I read both equally. I might read a book around the same time I'm reading a book about writing.

I love reading. I read both types, fiction mostly fantasy, classics, children books; non-fiction about anything interesting or that I want to learn about.

A series of sci-fi shorts! ;)

There's some good food for thought out there, especially when it comes to energy and suspense in writing.

I am writing too! Can you suggest me some of the best books for writers? I would greatly appreciate some tips. If you have some too feel welcome...
also you are going to let us read your shorts, right?

One book that I borrowed off a shelf is The Practice of Creative Writing. It has a lot of variety along with examples and exercises, so it's easy to use. I can do a little reading and then see if I can look at my own work in a new light.

I may or may not post my work here... depends on if I ever get these wrapped up!

I prefer fiction in general, but I also read non fictional books sometimes, if I find the topic interesting.

I read BOTH, and equally enjoy both.

Non-fiction: Auto-biographies / Biographies, by far, are my favorite, Politics, Philosophy, Trivia, and I have a TON of Bible-study books----LOVE them----can't get enough of them!!

Fiction: Almost anything, really----EXCEPT "romance novels", EWWWW!! !!
