Obviously the Constitution, or many parts of it, can be interpreted many ways.

There are a few small gray areas, but on the whole, considering it was drawn up by a committee of lawyers, the Constitution is written in remarkably clear language.

Lawyers write in clear language? That is a first. The legal professions are based on people not understanding the language so they need to hire someone who does when they get in legal trouble. The average citizen is completely unable to understand the law books and what is written in them.
[ rant]Since most politicians studied law as well, this is not likely to change. They also have an unfounded belief in the rule of law, even international law (they still can't believe an old KGB chief outmanouvered them all). We need Churchills, Eisenhowers, Thatchers and Meirs who know about realpolitik.[ /rant]

Or the father of realpolitik, Otto Von Bismark.
