Hi there,

Would any of you folks go to Mars, if given the opportunity?

You would receive unlimited paid vacation from your job, and unlimited leave from your school.

LOL.....Of course you will be able to get back to the Earth!! !! ! :D

If I couldn't leave, it would be a deal breaker for me. If I had a spaceship of my own at a time when space travel was commonplace like it is in Star Wars or Star Trek, then that would be different.

I know that applications or inquires are being accepted for this project and if I were younger I would be jumping in that list but I doubt at my age I could meet physical or mental requirements, but I guess you are pretty much being viewed as expendable if you are accepted anyway because it is a one way trip with no plans or intention of participants ever being returned to earth.

No, that is part of the agreement for participants is that you would never be returning to earth. It is a kind of experiment. They are creating, or have already created the simulation training grounds somewhere off in Hawaii.

Well....this is a different trip, sponsored by my many zillions of dollars.

And the simulators are located in a bucolic part of Idaho.

Sorry I had not hears about this one. I have been getting regular feeds about the one in Hawaii.

I, for one, would do it in a minute, even if the travelling environment was as claustrophobic as the Command Module of the Saturn 5 rocket.

In that case, I probably would....it would probably have to be a pretty Star-Trekkish journey, though, if I think about it. That or it'd have to be a very short trip.

I couldn't leave my friends and family behind just like that, knowing that I would never see them again and vice versa.
