We just had School Spirit Week at my school, too. While I didn't participate, I do have to say that watching someone in a giant sumo-wrestler costume walking around the halls claiming to be "Super-Sumo!" was entertaining, as was an acquaintance of mine who just put on some kind of bizarre blindfold and a cape that appeared to be lifted from a fifth-grader's Little Red Riding Hood costume, assuming the moniker of Generic Man.

I don't play sports, I'm not in band/orchestra, and I am not in ASB, and I don't really want to do any of that through the rest of high school. The only sport I did was ONE cross country meet in 5th grade. After getting a poor running score, I had a meltdown and never did sports again. They all thought I was a winner - yeah, right. "EVERYONE GETS A TROPHY!!" :x
Band involves too much practice and going to special events where thousands of people watch, and I'd likely end up on some TV news reports. No, thanks.
ASB involves WAY too much after school and weekend stuff, including the dances and sports games. No thanks, I need to get on the bus straight after school, that's my only way of getting home at this time.
I don't mind pep assemblies now than I used to be. Back in elementary school I would try to get away from assemblies that I knew had loud noises in them - like the Circus Arts Assembly and a couple of others. Now, as a high schooler I go nuts, in a good way, when the emcee tells our grade level to scream. Kids still like me even though I don't do sports or band/orchestra.
