It's definitely a parody. I don't think any church has "unsaved unwelcome" as a rule.

It looks like they are taking the mick out of Christianity by mimicking the views of the crazy ones.

You are not a Christian if you say that you are, but only when you act like a Christian. I don't know what these people are but for sure they are not Christian at all

Yes indeed. Most of those things on that site are a parody of the highly legalistic and hyper-fundamentalist type Christians, that is those that tend to be very loud, shrill and vocal and grab everybody's attention (particularly the media.) In a sad way they become the 'voice' of what some folks think of Christians, even as they are pretty rare, and most other Christians are just quietly trucking along.

As a Christian with Autism, this makes me sad. These are not Christians; they are people who love to hate for some twisted reason!

Acting like a Christian entails failure to one extent or another but agreed, some effort is expected at the very least. A lot of these failures can be attributed to plain 'human nature', while other common temptations and pitfalls are typically Christian.

What tiny, lingering threat of faith I had in humanity is now completely dead. This has got to be the single most evil, hate-filled piece of garbage I have ever had the misfortune to lay my eyes on. So it's true that there are people who really do think we are evil, demonic psychopaths who should be burned at the stake. I could end up a victim of a horrific hate crime because of idiots like these. I am a Christian only because I was baptized. That is all. I don't go to church, say prayers, and Christmas way as well be called "Presents from Santa Day". :P

God is a lie. :x

I live right across the street from a high school and have complained about it many many many MANY times. Guess I'd better find a new place to move that's really far from it before I, you know, kill everyone there. I'm supposed to be killing small animals. Do the fruit flies that occasionally infest my kitchen count? What about the microbes on my hands when I wash with soap? Oh wait, I don't know what I'm saying, I'm horrifically ret*d. No, that wasn't a joke, I'm too utterly cheerless. Seriously I must be evil and violent. I've had problems with violent outbursts for years and I even smashed a chair during my last big meltdown about a month ago and the only reason I got away with it is because I live alone and keep to myself. I guess WW3 is just around the corner, only instead of Jewish people they'll be dragging anyone with an Autistic disorder to the gas chamber. I have a really bad fear of poisonous gas. It sounds like such a terrifying and horrible way to die.

...and God hates shrimp now, too? What's up with that? We have to kill mini-lobsters now and send them to hell. :?

Wait, this extremist website isn't real? It's a joke? Wow, I haven't experienced this much fun and laughter since last December when I suffered an anxiety attack while having a tooth drilled. :(

Sorry this distressed you, but I found it very funny. Here is the message I left on the thread you made on the general autism board about it, as I think people should see this thread.

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp6028812.html#6028812

This does not mean I am not genuinely sorry this affected you so profoundly negatively and that it is affecting some others that way, too.

As I wrote, I would have ever seen this thread here if I did not read your thread there, as I never ever look on this board, though maybe I should. I think the topic is very interesting, as yes, parody can encourage discrimination, but I also think there can be something very beneficial about it, and imo this is worthy of enquiry from both angles/.

It does strike me that many if not most or even all of the participants on that entire site are probably aspies. The humor just has a cutting edge aspie flair to it, and the whole endeavor does seem to be bizarrely well designed.

As some people know, religion is a very big special interest for me, and I love Christianity (though not fundamentalism) and the Bible, but I still found that parody to be delightfully funny.

Landover Baptist Church is a PARODY SITE. It's made to make fun of groups like Westover Baptist Church and the site Rapture Ready. I actually used to post on Landover. I did one about my son who I had been "concerned" about but found out that the "bags of green stuff" he brought over was just for salads and I was "relieved" to find out how health conscious the kids were. Because they "always have bags of salad with them". It's a foreign kind of salad green called "kush". ;-)

Remember, some people take the horrible behavior of a few autistic people and expand it to cover all of us. And, the metaphors could go on and on. It's a matter of reasonable proportion.

There has to be some grain of truth in it, however small, in order for it to be funny, doesn't there? I have also heard it said that in any paranoia is some small grain of truth, though I am not sure it is so in every single instance. I have not looked that site over as I am not into spending my internet time reading satire, as funny as it is, but my guess is a lot of these people are aspies, just as a lot of the comedy writers on the show the Big Bang, I mean, who hates religion more than an aspie (unless it is their special interest, as it is mine)? I am on the internet and this site defending religion, though not fundamentalism.

It is very vulgar, so don't watch it on the internet unless you are into that, but the Comedy Central Joan River's roast is hilarious and hard core outrageous.. Some of the stuff people said right to her face--Wow! And those people love and admire her and are her friends and cohorts in comedy....

It is unlikely that more people who do not already hate aspies (which I am not sure that many people even do) will hate them because of this....it is more likely aspies behavior that makes some people not like them, not that this is necessarily right...and some of these people writing on there are probably on WP...

And that list right in the beginning of 31 characteristics is for some reason really funny, the way it is done with the bold print on some of it--I cannot figure out how it works and why he put bold print on the stuff he did, but it is some kind of skill he employed in doing that, maybe how it affects the brain, so something about timing, that makes it even more funny...and a lot of it is true about me--ha ha...and people are making this kind of satire about themselves on WP already....though not about the killer stuff, but a lot of other stuff...poking good fun at themselves...I have seen it...

Personally I am not particularly into comedy though I enjoy it when it comes up and if someone drove me up to the club entrance and payed for the show and my drinks I would gladly go,...but I am more into enquiry...as too many people are suffering and I do not want to waste my life laughing though a good laugh can hit the spot. I would rather go to a good discussion about religious symbolism anytime....

Seriously? You are just clueless aren't you. Time after time you make statements mischaracterizing misrepresenting us. This statement is just offensive. I have been on WP for several years and I have never seen one person using that kind of offensive humor. Yet here you are saying most or all of the people on that site are Aspis. I used to question your comments about being self diagnosed brain-damaged but I think after this, you've removed all doubt. Cutting edge Aspi flair? WTF are you talking about?
