It's been a while since i've been on here but hi everyone, i'm Geoff, 27 years old from Connecticut, US. Looking to find some new friends to talk to. I was diagnosed with AS 3 years ago, my social skills aren't very good but I do try without feeling down with myself. I'm a technology kind of guy, into computers, tablets, etc, I like kayaking in summer, hiking, going to New York City every couple months, photography and video games.

Lately i've felt depressed, having no motivation to do things. I think if I had some people to talk to, it could calm my depression. If you happen to live in Connecticut, thats a bonus for me but i'm here to find some "new" friends and hopefully maintain communication too.

I mostly play games that have a story or exploration like point and click adventures. 3D games make me nauseous, I can take medication but with so many 2D games available I don't bother. I haven't tried online gaming yet. Don't know really what games to play online. I mostly play games on PC through Steam. I have a lot of games . I mostly wait for sales on Steam so I can get games cheap so I don't have the newest games. Most games that are a year old or older that I want I have.

Movies and TV shows I like are horror, drama, blockbusters like Spider-Man, science fiction. The only movies and TV shows I don't like are political or with cops/criminal activity.

I am very interested in Psychology and like to talk about what makes people tick. I also love animals and love to talk about them. I have 2 dogs who I love very much.

I am an honest person and don't backstab people. I have been backstabbed a lot in my life and it has resulted in some serious scars. People most of the time just use me for my skills or to have someone to talk to about their problems but whenever their problems are solved, they disappear like snow before the sun. I have always something to talk about. I respect everyone equally no matter what problems you might have. I find it interesting when people have problems or disabilities. Normal is just so boring isn't it? I like to help people.

I've had some bad experiences on this forum, so I'll say that practical manners are important to me. Just thinking of how what you say might affect someone you're talking to, not making assumptions about their lives, etc. A diagnosis doesn't mean we need to be rude, demanding, and presumptuous to the point where others are hurt, just different in how we understand the meaning of social cues and the way the world works.
