it could be anything from them expressing admiration for your healthy habit to warning you that you were too close to the road.

I have no idea.
Do you have anyone you can ask? Someone who actually knows you?
Otherwise, just add it to your "X-files" and accept the fact that you'll probably never figure it out.
After a lifetime, my collection of "X-files" could fill a few tractor-trailers.
People do weird stuff for no apparent reason. That's pretty much the story of my life.

This has happened to me before and I have no idea why 8O I'm on study leave at the moment and I was going home from a revision session several hours before school ends, and I look about 5 hears younger than I am so people would have assumed I was too young to be doing exams. I was getting weird looks and someone in a truck honked at me :x Now if I go to study session I stay at school all day in fear that'll happen again :?

I just noticed your age.
For me, that was a very long time ago and I haven't thought about it for a while.

Back then, every once in a while, I'd be walking down the street
and some old geezer would pull over, flash a pile of cash and ask me if I wanted a ride.
It happens. Don't waste your time being polite, but do try not to throw up.
Also, try not to walk alone whenever possible, and never at night.

They may have been creepy people trying to hit on you. Try to have a cell phone around in case someone tries to do something.

It has happened to me and I've been harassed. I didn't understand at first, either. Try your hardest to look "busy" and tell your parents.

When it is a really long walk you should try driving instead. Quicker and safer. I think you know this by now, but don't get into stranger's cars. Ever.

i've been honked at by people in card while i was on the street, but they were just friends and other people from school who knew me, so it was friendly.
but once i was walking, and a guy in a convertible car, with his wife and kids pulled up next to me once, and said...
..."nice pants".

I have had the same thing happen to me, and it was probably this. I usually just ignore it, but if they talk to you or do anything else beyond that, then its better that you do not let it happen. Because thats just asking for trouble. Walk away, call your parents, whatever you need to do to get yourself out of a dangerous situation.

If the traffic is bad where you live, it could just be people honking at one another. I live in TO and the streets are almost always busy and this happens a lot, especially during the rush hour(around 5-7 pm).

Maybe they were just trying to say Hi!

Over here (I live rurally and go to school in the town, I'm in southern Ireland) people honk their horn at you just to say hi to you. On my friend's road, where I walk every summer, LOTS of cars slow down, honk, speed up and go further ahead. It's considered a friendly thing here. (At least in my town)

And also, in my town, we're expected to wave or give a thumbs up at crossings to drivers to let them know we appreciate them stopping. They may have been angry that you didn't do that. xD

So basically, there's a miniscule chance that there was someone creepy hitting on you. They were probably little s**ts trying to surprise you, someone saying Hi to be friendly, or you did something wrong. You may not have noticed it, but people on the road are extremely rude. I've been sworn at and screamed at on my bike in a PARK before, so the road must be no different. Some people are just rude, so you have nothing to worry about :)
