Oh my! I sent a link to a man I've been dating and suspect may be Aspie. He took the test and replied that he scored 31 and asked what does that mean? I replied with a link I found interpreting the results. I said I'm not surprised, as I've noticed he had 'aspie-esque traits'.

My question is, this score is right on the border. Anyone on here with an 'official' diagnosis get 31 or lower? Do you think he is offended? I'm worried and I don't think he'll respond to me if he's upset. Any suggestions as to how to approach this, or maybe I should just leave it alone unless he brings it up?

Thanks!

The old AQ threshold was a score of 32. After a few years, it was revised to a score of 26.

I would leave it alone unless he brings it up.

Well, we have discussed his ' difference' and he acknowledges that he is 'wired differently'. He is unlike anyone I have met, to be honest. I am not entirely NT myself, and he knows that also. We are in our 40's and grew up when Aspergers was unheard of and always misdiagnosed. A lot of older people grew up feeling different and never knowing the source of their struggles.

I read a post earlier today from a man in his 60's who welcomed the knowledge his partner gave to him.

I doubt he was offended. Personally, if my partner sent me something like this I would take it as a sign she cares and/or understands me.
Of course, I am a bit on the loopy side, might want to trust someone else's opinion.

Update...he was not offended. We're talking more than we have been in awhile. He even took it with a bit of humor. He is happy that I sent it. I don't want to bombard him with questions, as I know he is in the process of learning more and with accepting or rejecting the idea that he fits the diagnostic criteria.

Hi
I scored 30 on that test and in turn out that I was an aspie (I got a officiel diagnose).

You can give your friend this link:
http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php
It is more precies. Even that your score as an aspie does not mean your are an aspie since here might be something else that can be different that tricker the same behaviour.

If he scores aspie in the aspie test then he might want to get an officel diagnose.

Getting an officel diagnose did not help me much

So....i took that because I was bored...
Your neurodiverse (Aspie) score: 163 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 30 of 200
You are very likely neurodiverse (Aspie)
Should this worry me at all? O_0
