I read this the other day, I feel bad for the guy but you'd think he would of went tried to learn to live off the land rather than stealing for 28 years. Not surprised he is aspie, kind of scares me since a fear I have is ending up like that.

i suspect in his physical circumstances there was just no "living off the land" for there was no natural fat thereof off which to live. i guess you could say he committed social suicide. his physical body and living needs were being met but he sloughed off that part of himself, however small, involved with living with other people.

I remember thinking at the time that guy was probably Aspie. So many people on WP say they want to just run away and live in the woods (there was an admiration thread for that "Into The Wild" guy on here, as I recall) but you never hear about the ones who successfully do it. This article was a fascinating read, thanks for posting!
