About five years ago I created a band/musician page on Facebook for my stage personality of "The Bicycling Guitarist." A couple months ago I created separate pages for my guitar and my bicycle, then a few weeks after that I created separate pages for my evil twin, his guitar(s) and his bicycle!
I realize many don't like Facebook because of the privacy issues. Also I hate the social games they have that insist on annoying everyone on your friends list to accomplish anything. But as a musician trying to become better known and make connections to get gigs and possibly even friends in real life, I find Facebook useful.
