WP has IPv6 available. Or at least cloudflare.net does.

Does TOR do IPv6 or is it strictly IPv4? If IPv6, it would seem like there are far too many addresses to even think about trying to ban them. After all, if TOR did IPv6, every server could change to an unused IPv6 address as often as they wished and never have to worry about reusing one. From just my allocation, I could allocate nearly eleven thousand IP addresses every second since the Big Bang without reusing any.

We can block entire IP ranges. In principle we could block the entire internet with a single command! So, I don't think there is any easy way of getting around the IP bans.

I've tried that with spammers but it has often caused more problems than the spammers and so I had to lift the bans.

It would be interesting to see the single command.

I guess if you use pf on OpenBSD, you could just use:
Quote:
block

I do block all ssh, telnet, http, and https attempts to most of our IPv4 addresses from nearly the entire Internet (all but our local addresses). That is mainly because of all the gear that shouldn't have default IP addresses but I can't absolutely rule it out.

We use individual IP bans initially but extend that to an entire block if necessary, e.g. 123.456.*.* That is typically to block an entire internet service provider in far flung places like Nigeria where we don't get any legitimate posters but lots of spammers and scammers. We can also specify a range. In principle we could block *.*.*.* but we wouldn't get many posts!

I have 137 Reddit accounts all of which are shadow banned, new accounts I make from home are instantly S/B'd before a single post, new accounts I register from i'net cafes and from the local library, are S/B's as soon as I hit the registration link.

Q: Does anyone know of a way to bypass the restriction and post onto Reddit .. some ppl have suggested TOR :)
