Yesterday, I had the pleasure of walking over the top of the o2 millenium dome in London UK. It was built as a celebration of the achievements of the human race, and is now filled with pop concerts and a standard selection of franchised food outlets.

The view from the top of the dome is impressive - it provides a clear picture of the post-WW2 remains of London?s docklands, as well as the Thames Barrier which was built after the 1953 flood. An expensively-manufactured tourist information plaque wrongly states that the flood took place in 1943. Another plaque wrongly states that William the Conqueror crossed the Thames on his way from France to the Battle of Hastings!

The ?EastEnd? of London is no more than a sentimental recollection of times gone by. It was obliterated by German bombs, and good riddance.

I am currently reading a novel called Mudbound about the effects of WW2 on the n****r culture of the deep south of America.

Does life ever change, or does it always stay the same?

Not sure what exactly that you are asking.

But your stream of conscious ramblings are quite interesting.

I guess Hitler deserves credit for doing some urban renewal and slum clearance on London!

Gosh- what kinda drugs are the plaque writers in Britain smoking?

Am a Yank, and even I know that the boundry between England and France is the English Channel, and not the Thames River!

Hard to know how you put the above information together to formulate your question but the one constant is change. Nothing can be expected to stay the same forever.

So please remove the "Ferris" wheel, eh? Pretty please?
