Physically, there are all sorts that I find attractive. I do find athletic bodies with well-defined muscles very attractive, but often the brain inhabiting those bodies to be less so. I often seem to like guys with darker skin and hair and who have a bit of 5 o'clock shadow. Although there guys I find attractive who don't fit that description at all, so it's not a hard-and-fast rule. I really don't like tattoos and piercings.

What, for me, changes things from finding someone attractive to whether I really like them is very much personality. I definitely go for smart, motivated guys and for guys who are accomplished. Looking at the three guys I've had serious things for (not that any of them actually went anywhere), they were all slightly older than me and were all excelling in some aspect of life that I was concerned about at that time. So, for example, right now I'm in the process of applying to grad schools and choosing which ones are my preference. The guy I most recently had a crush on (well, still do to some extent, but less so now) is a postdoc, just a year out of prestigious grad school. He is clearly extremely smart and is excelling in his research. As an added bonus, because we have similar educational backgrounds, we can talk about technical, research-related topics (which has not been the case with any of the guys I've been on dates with). All of these things made (make...) him extremely attractive to me and were far more important than his looks (which, if I'm being honest with myself, are nothing special).

I've got to say, too, that my feelings for a guy will really only start to develop fully if I find out he's gay to. If I think he's straight then I can sort of keep a lid on them--I'll feel an attraction but nothing major. Once I know he's gay then all of the feelings seem to spring out on me. This was certainly the case with the last guy. (If you're wondering why I haven't acted on my feelings, I actually did. I asked him out for coffee, but he let me know that he's already in a relationship. :( )

I'm bi like you.

And I'm the same man, I like the nerdy guy type as I'm a nerdy kind of guy as well. Skinny and shy.

Some cute/handsome famous guys would be Owl City, Nate Reuss, and Rivers Cuomo to my eyes (you can google them).

Though nothing is set in stone, I like husky, bearish guys. I've never been into excessively rugged guys; I like boyish good looks and a nice beard. I'm also a sucker for curly/wavy hair. I tend to have a preference for guys that are shorter than myself (I'm about 6'0-6'1), and I definitely like the nerdy type; I'm almost exclusively into nerds. Basically, my ideal guy would be a hairy German/Irish or German/Scottish guy. That combination seems to produce the look I get a boner for. That being said, personality-wise I'd like someone that is goofy, intelligent, down-to-earth, but serious when the situation calls for it and level-headed enough to deal with me when I'm being off-kilter. (I'm not exactly the best at dealing with my emotions after years of suppressing them.) Most importantly, someone that is okay with spending a day out of the week snuggled up, lazing about, doing absolutely nothing short of listening to music, watching anime and just talking about random s**t.

I'm disgustingly romantic. >_>

I am always amazed at the different preferences of people. For me, I like guys that are thin but not weedy; they don't have to have large muscles, but they have to be there somewhere. My boyfriend now has an eight-pack which is extremely alluring! I also prefer them to be shorter than me but for some reason end up dating taller boys more frequently. I prefer them not to be blonde, and I like clean shaven faces. Chest hair is acceptable but not a rug. And I like them to be affectionate!

Just like other people mentioned, it's so much more important to me, after the eyes meet and the interest is sparked, that you have some deep passions in common and a well-matched intellect and sense of humour.

I really have a thing for black guys. I prefer my guys to be masculine (or at least not too effeminate). He doesn't have to be ripped, but he can't be out of shape, either. I also prefer for him to be my age or older. It would feel awkward for me to date a younger guy.

Need to be smart, have a sense of humour, be physically active, healthy, have a sense of adventure, have goals/dreams etc.

Physically/aesthetically.. younger than me, shorter than me, slim athletic build (think runner/swimmer/soccer/yogi), smooth vs. hairy body, white, blonde is a major plus. In general, the gay community would label my type as a "twink."

i like lot of different body types, thuogh the one i cantt stand is guess what others calling "twink." i want to be f--king a man, not what lookks like a pubescent boy. also dont like obese and it reallly takes something speciall to feel attracted to old man, like he has to have regal/stately bearing insted of hunched over and smellinng like piss. physicaly i like other red heads best, very muscular and lot of hair, its hot, least to me, being ablle to see differennt parts of them flush. i think far east asians are cute but ive never gotten to sleep with one before - i think their hair looks beautiful and i like the eyes. generaly dont care too much abauot personality because ive just about accepted i cant hold real relationship with others, though i know im very powerfully attracted to intelligence. if i meet a man who can hold their own against my own intelligence or who actully clearly show he is smarter, makes me feel somwhat conquered and that makes me horny as anything for him.

I like big hugs and lots of kissing. The guy has to be tough enough to handle my 230 pounds of tonnage rolling all over you. the next part is even better I love a man that does collapse from my huge hugs and heavy snuggling. Yeah I hug big and snuggle heavy. I like taller men with some meat on their bones to give me the illusion of solid construction. Skinny guys might shatter shatter under pressure that only beefy man can muster up.

Well after the guy is proven not to shatter like glass under my heavy snuggling, they have to be sweet as sugar. I am a huge oversize baby like me in your lap, can you the guy put me to bed and not shatter like glass. I like a tough, strong man that does break after a few minutes of holding me. I just wish I wasn't over 220 pounds so more men can hold me. Damn it, I like to be held by my man.

Personally I would like someone with a good personality (kind, caring, honest, funny, etc). Also someone around my age. I'm sort of tall/skinny so I'd prefer someone who can complement me in that respect. The problem is that I've been raised to date someone from the same religion. That to makes things even harder. And now with my diagnosis of being on the Spectrum I'm trying to get used to that part of things too.
