What is your first name? Frances

Age: Body: mid-40's. Emotionally? 6, 14, 22, 39, 46, & 72. (chart any aspect of me & it'll be "spiky").

Location: North of San Francisco, CA, USA

Hobbies and Interests: Making computers do new things, playing with data, reading, skating, gardening, gender & LGBT studies, psychology ('twas my major), lotro, animals, family.

Why are you here? My daughter has apparently inherited all of my neural atypical traits; I've learned some adaptations but only realized I was atypical around 7 years ago. Now I'm learning all I can to help guide her, if possible.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Self-diagnosed only, but everything fits, including several other diagnoses.

Favorite subjects: Ah, my loyal subjects. How can I pick just one? The jester. Yes, definitely him.

Year/Grade: n/a

Favorite music: Elaine K., Sarah Bettens, some 80's & early 90's stuff no one has heard of...

Books: Working through Anne McCaffrey's Pern & Talent books, always have two fiction & a non-fiction or two going.

TV shows/Movies: Auditory processing issues = garbled dialogue.

Instrument: QWERTY Keyboard, soldering iron, shovel, telescope, camera.

Do you like sports? Skate hard, turn left!

Family: My wonderful spouse, 6 yo son, 10 yo daughter (also Aspie). Old dog, two cats, two birds, hamster, many fish.

Clothing: Knit shorts, no shoes, t-shirt or sweatshirt on the weekends, pants & collared shirt on workdays. Derby skates on Thursdays.

How did you find this website? Read 'Aspergirls' & realized it fit our daughter to a 'T'. Then my wife convinced me to consider maybe someone else was also an Aspie. Started researching...

Job: SQL Database server admin.

Plans for the future? Turn the compost pile. Make dinner. Help our kids grow up happy & healthy, grow old with my spouse, move somewhere plants won't wither.

Any comments? I grew up in a very conservative Christian family where "defects" were something to hide, out of shame. Decades later, all my internal walls crumbed. Not a happy time. Busy rebuilding, but have to focus more on my family right now.

Age: 44

Location: Germany

Hobbies and Interests: Many

Why are you here? Meet people I can relate to about those certain aspects of life. That, and find out how Aspie-life is like in other countries, maybe I'll migrate ...

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): 2005/6ish, didn't sink in though until a couple of years later

Favorite subjects: Many

Year/Grade: PhD

TV shows/Movies: Crime, Phantasy, Comedy. NO HORROR, NO SUSPENSE!

Do you like sports? Yes. Mainly running, inline skating, rock climbing

Family: Not part of my life.

Clothing: Yes.

How did you find this website? Google

Job: Geoscientist, currently recovering from a burnout

Plans for the future? Yes. Many. Enough for three futures, actually.

Any comments? I left two AS-Forums already, due to mobbing. I wasn't the target, but I am allergic to environments where people get picked on or excluded because they're weak or different. Imagine: One NT-woman got kicked out of an AS-Forum for being socially awkward! 8O
Anyway, I like the atmosphere here, so I give it another try. 8)

What is your first name? Rachelle

Age: 23

Location: Washington State, Usa

Hobbies and Interests: Many kinds of art and making things by hand, raves, ethics and compassion, pets, video games, anime, interested in though haven't tried Laarping. I like to experience different cultures... especially feel a warming to Native American tradition.

Why are you here? To find friends I can relate to

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Haven't been officially... pretty sure though I have some amount of aspergers.

Favorite subjects: Witty/dorky humor, things of sentiment or emotional warmth and well-being and inspiration, anything whimsical

Favorite music: Trance, some rock, and stuff with a middle eastern or spanish feel to it. Dark but hauntingly beautiful melodies in sound, but lyrics that promote good things.

Books: If reading books was a crime, I'd be an infamous legend. Haven't read anything good recently though... oddly enough. I like fantasy... don't like anything related to American history or the military.

TV shows/Movies: Believe, anime. I enjoy action Sci-fi movies: Some examples are- First and foremost The Chronicles of Riddick, Blade: Trinity, any X-men Movie really, Underworld Rise of the Lycans.
I can't abide horror/thrillers or really really crude humor.

Instrument: I enjoy singing, and have a broad range. I would enjoy learning the violin once I have the means.

Do you like sports? Not at all.

Family: My significant other is the one I view as my family now... honestly anyone who chooses to be in my life.

Clothing: I enjoy a spectrum within the alternative look (such as punk emo etc) But I have a particular fondness for the gothic romantic look (lace and dark elegance) I at times can be a bit androgynous in my appearance and even demeanor. Not what one would call butch, but a more subtle-ness.
I dislike simple/plain clothing unless it's super soft or comfy and HATE the feeling of velvet.

How did you find this website? Google.

Plans for the future? My own clothing production.

Any comments? I have experienced a lot of unique things in my lifetime... most of them unpleasant. I try to use these things to make myself a kinder and more understanding person. I'm very multifaceted, some things about me may seem to contrast with others so I have had a lot of assumptions made about me. For this reason I try to keep an open mind and heart towards others.

Family: My two parents and a very old lab named Cricket
Clothing: Whatever's comfortable
How did you find this website? bing

Plans for the future? Writing a novel right now.

Any comments? I am a Christian and I believe God gave me my autism so I would experience the world differently from others. He wanted me to be unique, and I consider my autism a strength rather than a weakness.

What is your first name? Ash (Yes, like the Pokemon protagonist). I'm a guy though and no, it's not short for Ashley.

Age: 21

Location: Kansas, currently.

Hobbies and Interests: Tons of stuff. I could go into simple generic things like movies, music, games, etc or I could go into more detailed things like going to Macy's around Christmas time. Overall, I dig all sorts of movies (especially 80s flicks), all kinds of music, fun video games (Zelda/Shadow of the Colossus/Pokemon/etc), making music, acting, working out, room decor, so on, so forth.

Why are you here? I'm terrible at making friends so I figured why not try to be friends with people who are also bad at making friends lol

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Sometime around the age of 5 according to my mom.

Favorite subjects: In school? I was always partial to English and Crafts. Hated math.

Year/Grade: I left school in 2011.

Favorite music: I listen to literally everything. My music tastes range from Bring Me The Horizon to def leppard to Marilyn Manson to Big Time Rush. I've never been a music snob so I don't ignore any genre and listen to a lot from all of them. I'm not super big on rap but I do like some (Eminem, Run DMC, etc). Innerpartysystem is my favorite group of all time though. That'll never change!

Books: I read a lot of manga but I'm also big on HP Lovecraft.

TV shows/Movies: TONS. Currently watching Parks and Recreation because I got into that recently. I love How I Met Your Mother, Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Tosh.o, South Park, Family Guy, Everybody Hates Chris, etc. In terms of movies, my favorite is Big (with Tom Hanks). My favorite genres are dumb comedies (Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Jon Heder type stuff), 80s life films (Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, Say Anything, etc), and terrible slasher films (Slaughter High, Scarecrows, Creepshow, etc).

Instrument: I can play several but my personal favorite is a synth.

Do you like sports? Not a whole lot but once in a blue moon I'll watch a hockey game.

Family: I have a few brothers and a sister. My dad hasn't been in my life since I was 16 and I was raised exclusively by my mom. Most of my family is very divided and scattered and there's not a lot of closeness between any of us. I'd say I honestly don't know 99% of people in my family. It's not a super bad thing. Both sides of my family have their issues and lives and we all keep to ourselves.

Clothing:

How did you find this website? A friend of mine was talking to me about it.

Job: I'll sound like a bum but I'm currently not working. Currently I'm hoping to keep working on my music and acting career and HOPEFULLY make something of that but I'm looking into getting a new actual job soon.

Plans for the future? Remain the happy and positive person I've become and make a name for myself and find that special someone. Look at me saying corny things lol

Any comments? I hope everyone is having a jazzy day!

Age: 47

Location: UK

Hobbies and Interests: Computer hardware, rock climbing, hiking, camping, motorbikes, music

Why are you here? I want to make some real friends and people that actually understand me

When were you diagnosed? My counselor suggested it to me but I still haven't had an official diagnosis

Favorite subjects: science(physics), English, Metalwork

Year/Grade:

Favorite music: Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, Frank Zappa, Beatles, Bowie among the classics but I like all sorts really and will give anything a chance, I like Eminems early stuff and ICP and I used to love NWA so my tastes are very broad to say the leaast, I even like a bit of Beethoven.

Books: I'm not really a book person cos I have problems with concentration so reading takes out out of me

TV shows/Movies: I love sci fi, star wars, star trek, I'm nutty about anything to do with space and science. Blade runner is my favorite. I like action stuff too and especially like psychological thrillers. I don't really do TV cos I can't stand mind numbing game shows and soaps. The only thing I really watch on tv are documentaries, family guy and American dad.

Instrument: I wish, I've got a keyboard but not the patience to master it.

Do you like sports? only rock climbing of which I tend to do the sport climbing.

Family: not seen any of them for years

Clothing: jeans and t shirt mainly and just shorts and sandals when its warm enough, im not into fashion, just comfort, I dress for me not other people.

How did you find this website? I was searching for an aspie dating site and ended up here

Job: warehouse at the moment but I never last long at any of my jobs so Ive had loads and will probably have many more.

Plans for the future? Its difficult to think of the future with the state my heads in at the moment but I would definitely like to meet someone in the future.. Its a bit of a catch 22, I'm really lonely but also really bad at meeting and talking to people.

Any comments? I wish the summer would last all year round
