Research Aspergers some OP. Us Aspies tend to be oblivious to nonverbal communication like facial expressions so he may not even noticed the frown, let alone understood what it meant. This post is a perfect example why I'm better with a woman on the spectum than an NT because NTs just cant grasp our communication method just like we have major problems learning to communicate like them.

elkclan, have you read that book? I definitely don't agree with the statement of it being BS at all. I find my relationships were easier to deal with after reading that book (as well as five love languages). The difference is primarily in the way men and women say and do things. I also find hormones play a large factor in it as well as I need more rest to recuperate my testosterone levels. I won't do anything when I need that rest and it will happen right when I get home from work as well. My girlfriend is often motivated and energized after receiving some support and affection, and it takes as little as me cooking dinner or helping her with dinner to give her an extra boost of energy.

I will agree that the frown doesn't interpret well from the book as all the frown does is indicate someone's mood at that moment. Body language and facial expressions simply aren't enough to work with. But silence with the frown will tell me "Tread carefully because you don't know what is going on, but you need to find out something."

Too much emphasis on Aspie or NT behvaviour puts more strain and distance on the relationship between people. Simply saying "I'm an Aspie" and explaining it a little pushes people away as it may show the other person or people that you want to be irresponsible at best, and that you're mentally ill at worst.

edited to fix a couple things

Have you noticed how weak the arguments of the biology-deniers at the end (the young blondie and the grey-haired guy) in response of the evo psychologist? They kept saying "there's no biological basis for gender differences" and accused all these studies as weak and both questioned science for "why it's so considered to find biological basis for difference?" ...duh...well it's science! Scientists are concerned to explain everything around us including the origin gender differences, it's their job, but on the other hand they have utterly failed to provide any scientific evidence for their claims; in fact the scientists haven't denied the cultural factors but it's those social workers who are extremely denying the biological/evolutionary factors.

It's the same regarding the links posted by elkclan, those authors' arguments are very weak, and they accuse studies as being biased while them didn't do any study.

Yeah I noticed that. The lack of self-awareness in idealogues kind of makes me cringe. It's not like the USA & UK researchers were denying the importance of culture either.
