God, that was an eventful christmas. I remember my work christmas party and having to leave for Bundy the next day (I stayed at Mullumbimby on the way up, which my family thought was hilarious as the town is such a dive. I couldn't find anything for dinner though as the shops closed early and the pubs were...iffy).

By xmas day the flood warnings were already there, and I remember my uncle and one of my cousins rushing home to their house in Emerald so they could sandbag their house (didn't help sadly). Sometime between xmas day and NYE Bundy became an underwater world. I remember being in the shopping centre and an announcement came over the loudspeaker telling people to move their cars out of the bottom level carpark as it was about to be inundated with floodwater (there was a large drainage channel running alongside the shopping centre). Needless to say I moved my car. The next day that same carpark was 6ft under.

And then when we were in Brissy for NYE, where we sat in the riverbank to see the fireworks was under water not long after 8O

Wait, that'd make me War.

Bad idea. Nothing to see here. Move along.

God damn Wyatt, no more shooting!

You're cursed. You need to move to Sydney. That's where all of us cool Aspies in Australia are (although unfortunately, I've never met another Aspie in Sydney.) I've never met another Aspie in all my life as far as I know. I'd like to meet another one.

I cannot make up my mind about so many things. Decision making is such a huge task for me. That can turn fun things into stressful things.

Hey, write them down.

If you get time to scribe your choices down on paper, that tends to make them more real/concrete and you can consider them in a more real, time taken way.

I know it sounds kind of childish coming from a 47 year old but if I've got to decide between two options, what I usually do is "eeny meeny miny mo" and when it finally resolves which one I should pick, if it's not the one I (subconsciously) want, I'll feel it. Then I know which one to pick.

If you have more than 2 choices to pick from, then run through the above procedure again with the new set of variables.

You'll eventually come to a conclusion. Trust me. Try it. It works.

When eeny meeny tells you to take something, if you don't want it, you'll feel it! :)

I feel satisfied when I crack my knuckles, for some reason.

The mysterious disappearance and re-emergence of Tropical Cyclone "Test" on the BoM site 8O

OH! It's just a test warning. For a minute I thought the first cyclone of the season was barreling down on Darwin lol

I finally got "My Choice" set up on the UPS website and set my preferences so that the delivery man is instructed to leave packages at my door without requiring a signature. I'm sick of him knocking and then leaving before I can get to the door, taking my packages back to the warehouse only to come back the next day (or three days later if he comes on Friday) at the exact same time that I was unavailable the first time. Let's hope it actually works.

I have a rabbit problem. The problem being there's none.

O great Vorpal Bunny in the most holy of holiest burrows, plague this land with your offspring.

(VB, I can make sacrifices if that'll help.)

My Physics teacher's cat stole my assignment. I should have got full marks, because that means it was far more interesting than anyone else's.

Speaking of cats, why do they get things to climb on and boxes to sit in when I don't? THIS IS UNFAIR. I want a box.

So the UPS guy shows up around 8PM. Yes, 8PM. Fine. I'm always around at 8PM and I prefer that to him showing up at 8AM or noon or 2PM when I'm usually sleeping or in the shower or whatever. But he POUND POUND POUNDS on the door, terrifying the cats and nearly giving me a heart attack. He's got my packages, but after I answer the door, he looks down at his little electronic pad as if he's about to ask me for a signature, only to see that one isn't required... so if I hadn't been able to answer the door, he probably would have taken them back to the warehouse to attempt a delivery another day, even though I've left instructions to just leave packages by the door if nobody answers.

What the hell happened to UPS? They used to be the best. :?
