You misunderstood me. The state would pay no more than 10% of the cost for the Medicaid expansion starting in 2020; the rest would come from the feds.

I don't think they can help themselves. We all here have issues. We need to start admitting and recognizing the, Maybe we cancut down on some of this acrimony if we make an effort to understand and care. I know I got serious OCD, triggers, bipolar, and they all manifest here, which explains a lot. I am not the only one.


As I recall, you rode in here with guns drawn and started blasting away at ANYONE with a different opinion on anything.


Guns were blazing in here long before I arrived, yours included. I just admitted that I know i have issues with triggers , co-morbids, bad days etc, that affect my behavior here. So do you

It is a National problem, and discrace. Freeing slaves is not enough, they need to be taken to Washington, and made equal.

National problems are why we have a national government.

You freed them from your superior love and compassion, then left them to suffer.

All they can do is eat and reproduce. Having a narrow range of activity, they do both a lot.

You cannot blame it on slavery, because you abolished it.

You are free to come visit, use your superior skills to create a better world, but they will likely killl you for your shoes.

Is what you're describing the whole black population on the Mississippi delta, or is it just the worst by which racist whites judge the rest by?

I'm sick and tired of the right wing supporting regimes that disenfranchise the working class while at the same time telling us in effect, "it's only your imagination running wild. shut up." needlessly making it harder for working class folk to vote and to get health care are recurring examples in this day and age.

When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy." only for today, it should be noted that a large part of the GOP could be considered a modern equivalent of the "know nothing" party in terms of their dissocial behaviors. and it would be telling to replace a few terms Lincoln used ["negroes, foreigners and catholics"] with "people of color, women, liberals, unionists, working class and poor whites."

In Mississippi, most of the whites are dumb and fat too. It's not just blacks. And of course there are large numbers of halfbreeds/mulattoes/mixed-race/whatever people who are also discriminated against. There are whole regions in the Deep South that look like a fourth world country. Travel 20 miles, you change the race of the locals but it still looks like a fourth world country. The handful of rich whites (descendants of the big plantation owners) who are thin and happy live in gated communities away from the riffraff.

If it was just the South, or Appalachia, that would be one thing. But now it's the entire goddam country. There are places in California that are 95% hispanic, where people eat cheap tacos for all three meals so they can send all their wages back to Mexico. While San Francisco glitters in the distance, the inlanders live in ramshackle houses and may not even speak Spanish, they speak Nahuatl or Mazoteca or a zillion other indigenous languages, or even worse they speak "hillbilly Spanish", talk to them in Standard Spanish and all you get is "no comprende". Drive to some places in Oregon, the rich live on mountaintops while the poor smoke meth and collect "disability" payments, which goes toward cheap food and dope. And that town is 90% white. It's not just blacks, or latinos, or whoever the landed rich tell us to hate.

While we fight for scraps they strip mine us for money. America, once a land of opportunity, is now everything we hated about England. The elite pass down their positions to their kids and own all the land and resources. The poor are forced to fight each other, or fight wars so horrible that they emerge as "corpse-people", dead men walking. Or they OD on meth or pills. The corpse-soldiers are being groomed to simply slaughter the poor the same way they slaughtered the "hajjis" (GI speak for Muslims).

tell me, por favor- why do these people, when they can be bothered to vote, so often overwhelmingly vote for the party of these elites {GOP]? can't they comprehend what dirt the elites are doing to them?

I for one think the right sways people away from legitimate interests in the economic well being of people by playing up xenophobia hidden behind the illegal immigrant problem, homophobia with the "defense of traditional marriage," and racism and fear of America's changing demographics with voter fraud laws. The right appeals to the very worse in Americans, apparently because people are more concerned about their prejudices than with their and their families' welfare.

Blacks vote Democrat because of FDR. (Yes, a long time ago, but they're still mad over slavery.) Whites vote GOP because of Reagan, mostly, or a smaller number because of Nixon, but even dumb people know that it's not cool to like Nixon, so let's just go with Reagan.

Such people are commonly called "low information voters". All a GOP candidate has to do is play the Reagan Card to get elected. With blacks, it's the Race Card ("evil honkies are trying to take away your money, so vote for me!"). Nobody cares about party platforms, so the platform is just there to give political consultants jobs.

When in office, pols only listen to the rich people who keep the lights on in the Capitol, meaning the landed elite. Party affiliation is irrelevant. The actual positions of the candidates on most issues is pretty much the same, and they use a handful of meaningless "wedge issues" (abortion, gay marriage, etc) to get the low info voters to choose the pre-anointed guy.

As for can they comprehend what the elites are doing, no way, in most parts of the country the people have had whatever intelligence they may have had bred out of them LONG ago. They don't have much in the way of thinking at all. They eat and watch TV and surf porn on their beat up old computers. The few who work have learned to bathe and brush their teeth and look generally presentable for a short while. Some of them see a doctor every few months for "lifestyle illnesses" like high blood pressure and diabetes.
