It was not meant s a compliment other words were used coward recalcitrant, myopic, reactionary, obtuse, blustering, pompous,

http://www.theatlantic.com/internationa ... _page=true

Two issues here.
I do agree with generally with overall gist what was said about the Israeli Prime Minister

It's appalling that that top officials government feel free to use use Aspergers as a insult

If that is true I have less respect for the Obama administration, though I personally cannot see Obama himself using that to describe him.

All these revelations of government officials making derogatory remarks (ie. F*** the EU) makes the US look increasingly 'tacky' for lack of a better word.

I read that article yesterday, but missed 'Aspergery' in the list. Good catch and thanks for pointing it out.

It doesn't have much credibility until the person who said these things is named and can respond. Reporters can and will distort, if not outright invent, material for their own purposes/benefit.

So for me the next question is who said it?

The takeaway knowledge from this report is that this White House has once again shown itself to be tantrum prone and caustic. Whatever other presidencies have done and said, this one continues to insult both its citizens (people with Asperger's Syndrome) by using an AS term derisively, and its international cohorts.

Intentionally hostile or inept? You be the judge. Either way, it continues to be a class act [sarcasm]. Maybe the president should go back to bowing before other world leaders, and, by doing so, embarrass them with unnecessary feigned fealty. At least showing his administration to be craven and sycophantic to other world leaders is safer than insulting them.

If that's true that somebody said that, using Asperger's as a quality that is an insult, then wow. I've seen this become very common on an internet message board -- ignorant and trollish people using "aspergers" and "autistic" as insults now, replacing the "R" word these days. I've seen that with my own eyes. But now someone in the administration?? -- Shame on them. Jeez.

I think whoever said this about Netanyahu is a complete idiot and utterly ignorant.

It is unfortunate to see that "Aspegry" is used as an insult in such high circles.

Politicians and Public Relations serpents have been infiltrating social media for years; obviously some of it has rubbed off on them.

It is shocking it has jumped from internet troll land into the high corridors of power. I do recall a British politician using Autistic as an insult.

As of this writing ASAN has said nothing. I hope it is because they did not hear about it. I did just emailed them about this. I hope it is not because they did not want to be associated with Israel or Aspergers. ASAN did support the DSM 5 elimination of Aspergers http://autisticadvocacy.org/wp-content/ ... _final.pdf

Ari Ne'eman, the founder, is Jewish and staunchly pro-Israel. I'm positive that it's not because they don't want to be associated with Israel.

The "f*** the EU" thing went down a bomb with us anti-EU types, who have been saying the same thing for years.

I have always opposed the European "Community" and "Union." As a genealogist, the EU-influenced centralizing of local governments such as counties (see Denmark and the United Kingdom) makes it very difficult to find ancestors. Of course, the EU evils are far more intrusive than erasing county boundaries.

ASAN has a few virulently anti-Israel people working for it. My take is that Ari wants to have his cake (give Daily Beast an interview) and eat it too (refuse to put out an official ASAN release). To me, that's the definition of chickens**t.

Just imagine if politicians had personal facebook pages.....flame wars would be abundant. They could even use real cool photo editing effects to do insulting things to each others pictures.
