Helllo friends. I appreciate the support. Thank you. Sounds like I am not alone. As a webmaster myself, I happen to know that changing the color scheme is actually quite easy to do; it is merely a matter of aesthetic will, I agree that we should not be the ones making these suggestions as well, but tell me if I am wrong: Having to educate people about things I should not have to educate people about is status quo for me. Nonetheless, this comment resonated with me. And adding lines would not slow anything down by more than a nanosecond; for that matter, there are already lines: They are white and gray (and, by the way, yes, I have noticed the background is off-white (extreme sensory "impairments" are part of my diagnosis)), so changing the color of the lines would create no difference; the code does not have to think harder about whether to add white or another color line.

Ps. Yes, I am aware I have an obsession with semicolons; please don't judge me! I punctuate how it sounds in my head. And I am an English teacher.

What forum software will the new version be based on?

I assume that it will be more than a cosmetic upgrade.

Will we still be able to easily identify when forums and threads within the forums have new content since the last visit? That is by far my favorite feature of the site now.

Yeah, seems like it keeps disappearing and coming back. The last two times I went WP, it wasn't there at all, but this morning I saw it again.

Do not tell me we're back on Alex Standard Time again, I left the site for a few days hoping be surprised when I came back. At least the down time let me focus on my two special interests. For example today I learned how to make a batch file. All a product of Alex standard Time.

we will have a new website but will we have a new chat room that we can call our own? It would be great to have a new website and a new chat room to.

Hey, Alex, when i was moving between WP posts on my mobile phone yesterday, i was occasionally connected to an all-white screen with no lines seperating individual members' replies. Their quotes and replies weren't aligned with their avatar etc either ...it was a bit of a mess. So now i'm worried that we're about to lose our nice blue / green post boxes and / or our reasonably ok mobile friendly access ...even tho we were told the new site would be more mobile friendly ~ is it just teething probs or ?/ :-(

The legend of tantalus comes to mind. The promise of a clean efficient error free site... just beyond reach. Always just beyond reach. That or the man condemned to death by thirst with a tall sparkling glass of water placed out of his grasp.

This is madness :o

Lol I kid

Tell me about it! Is it always this bad? I make a few posts once in a blue moon and today everything just goes wrong. Don't even get me started on the random and seldom way in which I get notifications. Someone must be rolling a dice somewhere...

I see that the banner announcing the new site has been taken down. Are we no longer updating the site, Alex?

Social Skills 101 - Keep your promises

Suggestions for Alex

1. Say we are not getting a new website, this is too much for me. Apologize
2. Sue whomever you hired for failure to abide by the contract. As we said hire from your membership. Say there is an indefinite delay.
If you are going to hire somebody else get assistance as we are prone to be taken advantage of.

I was looking forward to the better mobile support, though to be honest, I'm kind of glad WP hasn't changed. I like it as it is. If some of the bugs were ironed out under the surface, and a mobile version of the site was created, then it would be perfect.

In the meantime, we've lost all the moderators who were capable of banning trolls. Wonderful.

I'd hope that the new site would have a feature whereby I could stop threads from showing up in the list of my threads if I still believed we were getting a new site in the foreseeable future, which I don't, and which is why I wish I could make this thread disappear from view.
