When people pay decent amounts of money for an opportunity they could have more efficiently for free, there are probably social reasons for it. Expect them to look down on you if you don't do the same. Whatever they do, it's probably meant to be barred to those of your social standing, and they'll make sure you don't get to be mistaken for one of them.
