another GBS aspie song

Consequence Free

Na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na

Wouldn't it be great if no one ever got offended,
And wouldn't it be great to say what's really on your mind?
I've always said all the rules are made for bending,
And if I let my hair down, would that be such a crime?

Chorus:
Oh, and I wanna be consequence free
I wanna be where nothing needs to matter
I wanna be consequence free
Just say na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na

I could really use to lose my Catholic conscience
'Cause I'm getting sick of feeling guilty all the time
I won't abuse it, yeah, I've got the best intentions,
For a little bit of anarchy, but not the hurting kind

Chorus

I couldn't sleep at all last night
'Cause I had so much on my mind
I'd like to leave it all behind
But you know it's not that easy
Oh for just one night

Wouldn't it be great if the band just never ended
We could stay out late, and we would never hear last call
We wouldn't need to worry about approval or permission
We could slip off the edge, and never worry about the fall

Chorus

Na na na na na na na na na

This may have been suggested before:

Radiohead- "Creep"

When you were here before
Couldn’t look you in the eye
You’re just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
And I wish I was special
You’re so f***in’ special

But I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo.
What the hell am I doing here?
I don’t belong here.

I don’t care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice
When I’m not around
You’re so f***in’ special
I wish I was special

But I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo.
What the hell am I doing here?
I don’t belong here.

She’s running out again,
She’s running out
She’s run run run running out...

Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You’re so f***in’ special
I wish I was special...

But I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo,
What the hell am I doing here?
I don’t belong here
I don’t belong here

Bush- "Glycerine"

Must be your skin that I’m sinking in
Must be for real cos now I can feel
And I didn’t mind
It’s not my kind
Not my time to wonder why
Everything’s gone white
And everything’s grey
Now you’re here now you’re away
I don’t want this
Remember that
I’ll never forget where you’re at
Don’t let the days go by
Glycerine

I’m never alone
I’m alone all the time
Are you at one
Or do you lie
We live in a wheel
Where everyone steals
But when we rise it’s like strwaberry fields

I treated you bad
You bruise my face
Couldn’t love you more
You got a beautiful taste
Don’t let the days go by
Could have been easier on you
I couldn’t change though I wanted to
Could have been easier by three
Our old friend fear and you and me
Glycerine (repeat)
Don’t let the days go by
Glycerine

I needed you more
When we wanted us less
I could not kiss just regress
It might just be
Clear simple and plain
That’s just fine
That’s just one of my names
Don’t let the days go by
Could’ve been easier on you
Glycerine

Metallica- "Unforgiven"

The Unforgiven
New blood joins this earth,
And quickly he's subdued,
Through constant pain disgrace,
The young boy learns their rules
With time the child draws in,
This whipping boy done wrong,
Deprived of all his thoughts,
The young man struggles on and on he's known,
A vow unto his own,
That never from this day,
His will they'll take away
What I've felt,
What I've known,
Never shined through in what I've shown,
Never be,
Never see,
Won't see what might have been
What I've felt,
What I've known,
Never shined through in what I've shown,
Never free,
Never me,
So I dub thee unforgiven
They dedicate their lives,
To running all of his,
He tries to please them all,
This bitter man he is,
Throughtout his life the same,
He's battled constantly,
This fight he cannot win,
A tired man they see no longer cares,
The old man then prepares,
To die regretfully,
That old man here is me
What I've felt,
What I've known,
Never shined through in what I've shown,
Never be,
Never see,
Won't see what might have been
What I've felt,
What I've known,
Never shined through in what I've shown,
Never free,
Never me,
So I dub thee unforgiven
You labeled me,
I'll label you,
So I dub thee unforgiven

Going through my tunes on my computer for stuff I find relevant to AS (as opposed to relevant to my other issues):

Green Day, both on American Idiot: extraordinary girl, and that 30-second clip in homecoming when it goes, "I feel asleep while watching Spike TV after 10 cups of coffe and you're still not here. Dreaming of a song but something went wrong. After 10 cups of coffee I'm thinking: Nobody likes you, everyone's left you, they're all out wituhout you, having fun." ((God I love that part))

The Firm- Star Trekkin' (don't shoot me for that one, I'm just guessing there may be a couple of aspies who might also have trekkie tendencies- though I myself prefer next gen)

Kelly Clarkson- beautiful disaster (I'd be one if I got a makeover, right now I'm a passable disaster!)

Jason Mraz- too much food (kinda)

And absolutely every single track on the monty python spamalot soundtrack. Buy it. Everyone. Now. "The song that goes like this" is so insanely funny that you may not want to listen to it while driving.

I once wrote a song about a man who was robbed of his brain by an ice cream vendor and became a drunken hobo..... Of course, considering the title of this thread, I don't think it'd quite fit here.

Heres a great AS song:

Reel Big Fish- "Somebody Hates Me"

i just made an enemy of someone i don't know
and they are upset about somethin' that i
must have done. it really doesn't make much sense
well i've got no statement in my defense

i know, no matter what, no matter who, no
matter what i do, somebody hates me and i hate somebody too.

did you misunderstand
something that i did or was there one
of my jokes that you didn't get or do you think
you've got the way i think all figured out.
what did i say, to make you feel i'm not cool now?

i know, no matter what no matter who
no matter what i do, somebody hates me and i hate somebody too.
i know its wrong, but i do it to and i guess i should say
don't let it get to you.

i know, no matter what no matter who
no matter what i do somebody hates me and i
hate somebody too somebody like you.

Yet another GBS aspie song, sorta, I see the world of NTs like this.

It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine
That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds,
snakes, and aeroplanes, Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn - world
serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs. Feed
it off an aux speak, grunt, no, strength, Ladder
start to clatter with fear fight down height. Wire
in a fire, representing seven games, a government
for hire and a combat site. Left of west and coming in
a hurry with the furies breathing down your neck. Team
by team reporters baffled, trumped, tethered cropped.
Look at that low playing! Fine, then. Uh oh,
overflow, population, common food, but it'll do. Save
yourself, serve yourself. World serves its own needs,
listen to your heart bleed dummy with the rapture and
the revered and the right, right. You vitriolic,
patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty
psyched.
CHORUS:
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.
Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign
towers. Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself
churn. Locking in, uniforming, book burning, blood
letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate.
Light a votive, light a candle. Step down, step down.
Watch your heel crush, crushed, uh-oh, this means no
fear cavalier. Renegade steer clear! A tournament,
tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions,
offer me alternatives and I decline.
CHORUS x 2
The other night I dreamt of knives, continental
drift divide. Mountains sit in a line, Leonard
Bernstein. Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester
Bangs. Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You
symbiotic, patriotic, slam book neck, right? Right.
CHORUS x 2

Green Day- "Burnout"

I declare I don't care no more
I'm burning up and out and growing bored
In my smoked out boring room
My hair is shagging in my eyes
Dragging my feet to hit the street tonight
To drive along these sh** town lights

I'm not growing up
I'm just burning out
And I stepped in line
to walk amongst the dead

A pathy has rained on me
Now I'm feeling like a soggy dream
So close to drowning but I don't mind
I've lived inside this mental cave
Throw my emotions in the grave
Hell, who needs them anyway

I'm not growing up
I'm just burning out
And I stepped in line
to walk amongst the dead

Augh, so much Green Day... all of it stolen from this:

The Who
"I'm One" from Quadrophenia (which is what American Idiot was stolen wholesale from)

Every year is the same
And I feel it again,
I'm a loser - no chance to win.
Leaves start falling,
Come down is calling,
Loneliness starts sinking in.

But I'm one.
I am one.
And I can see
That this is me,
And I will be,
You'll all see
I'm the one.

Where do you get
Those blue blue jeans?
Faded patched secrets so tight.
Where do you get
That walk oh-so-lean?
Your shoes and your shirts
Fit just right.

But I'm one.
I am one.
And I can see
That this is me,
And I will be,
You'll all see
I'm the one.

I got a Gibson
Without a case
But I can't get that even tanned look on my face.
Ill fitting clothes
I blend in the crowd,
Fingers so clumsy
Voice too loud.

But I'm one.
I am one.
And I can see
That this is me,
And I will be,
You'll all see
I'm the one.
Yeah, I'm the one!

Here's one for the whole spectrum:

Quote:
Enigma - Silence Must Be Heard

Look into the Other's eyes, many frustrations
Read between the lines, no words just vibrations
Don't ignore hidden desires
Pay attention, you're playing with fire

Silence must be heard, noise should be observed
The time has come to learn, that silence ...
Silence must be heard!
Or diamonds will burn, friendly cards will turn
Cause silence has the right to be heard

People talk too much for what they have to say
Words without a meaning, just fading away

Silence must be heard, noise should be observed
The time has come to learn, that silence ...
Silence must be heard!
Or diamonds will burn, friendly cards will turn
Cause silence has the right to be heard

How does it feel - Avril Lavigne

Dumb - Nirvana (Expecially the first first: "I'm not like them, but I can pretend")

I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme) - John Rzeznik (The first half at least, I'm not sure about the second half)

The Moody Blues - Watching and Waiting

Code:
Watching and waiting, for a friend to play with
Why have I been alone so long
Mole he is burrowing, his way to the sunlight
He knows there's someone there so strong

'Cos here there's lots of room for doing
The things you've always been denied
So look and gather all you want to
There's no one here to stop you trying

Soon you will see me, 'cos, I'll be all around you
But where I come from I can't tell
But don't be alarmed by my fields and my forests
They're here for only you to share

'Cos here there's lots of room for doing
The things you've always been denied
So look, and gather all you want to
There's no one here to stop you trying

Watching and waiting, for someone to understand me
I hope it won't be very long

This is from the "To Our Children's Children's Children" album from 1969, which I believe was recommended by someone here in another thread as being a good aspie album. The lyrics of this particular song stood out for me for some reason, though.

Watching the Wheels, by John Lennon:

People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing,
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin,
When I say that I'm o.k. they look at me kind of strange,
Surely your not happy now you no longer play the game,

People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away,
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me,
When I tell that I'm doing Fine watching shadows on the wall,
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball?

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go,

People asking questions lost in confusion,
Well I tell them there's no problem,
Only solutions,
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind,
I tell them there's no hurry...
I'm just sitting here doing time,

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go.

I don´t want to sound pessimistic, but what about:

Nightwish - Planet Hell

Quote:
Denying the lying
A million children fighting
For lives in strife
For hope beyond the horizon

A dead world
A dark path
Not even crossroads to choose from
All the blood red carpets before me
Behold this fair creation of God

My only wish to leave behind
All the days of the earth
An everyday hell of my kingdom come

The first rock thrown again
Welcome to hell, little Saint
Mother Gaia in slaughter
Welcome to paradise, soldier

My first cry neverending
All life is to fear for life
You fool, you wanderer
You challenged the gods and lost

Save yourself a penny for the ferryman
Save yourself and let them suffer
In hope
In love
This world ain't ready for The Ark

Save yourself a penny for the ferryman
Save yourself and let them suffer
In hope
In love
Mankind works in mysterious ways

Welcome Down
To my
Planet Hell

Save yourself a penny for the ferryman
Save yourself and let them suffer
In hope
In love
This world ain't ready for The Ark

Save yourself a penny for the ferryman
Save yourself and let them suffer
In hope
In love
Mankind works in mysterious ways
