my values to date
I value those who have been kind to me. And I never forget kindness.... especially my family, and my pets.. and those who have been a friend despite all the turmoil I have been through in front of them.
i value life, and life forms . If i were to have a dream job I would like to work towards the health and wellbeing of all lifeforms.
I think nature is there to be appreciated and it would be great if we made more effort to connect with it.
I think it is very important to explore one's biology and look at their life from a biological perspective, making their health a priority right down to the cellular/molecular level (easier said than done, lol)
I value creativity. And my spiritual beliefs, though i understand we will not all believe the same thing. I dont think that matters.
I think it is important to me to express myself, even if other people think im weird. Though if expressing myself hurt someone else I would be more hesitant. But being seen as weird is not enough of a reason to stop in my opinion.
I think that we have to do what we can to increase our self esteem even if it is against all odds.
hmmm.. perhaps i will think of more later.

My values:
My values could change over time.
But I do value reading. I have lots of time to do things so it is easy to read something. Even though many times I feel too lazy to read, I do know that it can get me going and stimulate me.
Other things that stimulate me is obviously the enviroment. I have never really found an oppertunity to walk around somewhere to experience things outside. But a few times I think that I realized that it helped me walk away from thinking about problems and being pissed off at people, among other helpful things.
Reality has to do be shared. This is also what can come with stuff like reading...
It crossed my mind that instead of coming up with all the answers myself, there are other sources that can influence me.
I like reading some of the news about new technology and health related subjects. An example is that something like global warming can be something I could be informed of to the effects and events of it over time.
Improving life is definetly something that I feel is important. Mine[my life] doesn't go anywhere if other good people with good intentions whom their life is of doesn't go anywhere. |

Precisely why I quoted it.
But, now that you mention it, Heaven has actual "streets of gold", so I think the Guy with the most gold does rule after all! _________________ Christianity is different than Judaism only in people's minds -- not in the Bible. |

My values? Heh.
I strongly oppose the Religious Reich. What they stand for is hate, ignorance, and an unhealthy abandonment of intelligence. They are hypocritical, opposing abortion while supporting war, opposing religious freedom while crying out against criticism of their hateful ways, and masking their hate groups as "legitimate" organizations dedicated to anything BUT fighting poverty, or anything any sound minded Christian would support. The Religious Reich, and the likes of James Dobson, Don Wildmon, Pat Robertson, are to Christianity what Naziism was to Germany.
I strongly support religious, political, racial, gender, and any sort of equality. The exception is age, as we cannot have 5 year olds driving cars. There is no logical reason to question reasonable equality without resorting to hate.
I support my local music scene, regardless of genre.
I oppose the mainstream, except for those bands that had an impact on my childhood (Toad The Wet Sprocket, Creed, Vertical Horizon, Sister Hazel) - many of those bands are no longer international sensations, like Eiffel 65 has restricted themselves to Italy, and Electrasy has flipped Arista records the bird and stayed independent.
I abide by the Wiccan Rede; which is the Wiccan form of The Golden Rule: If you harm none, do what you want. At least that's the modern English version...
I believe no matter what happens in the near future, if human kind survives, we were meant to survive, and we are just as much a part of nature - including space ships, air planes, cities, etc - as anything else on this Earth. I don't believe an apocalypse is coming to wipe out man, although an asteroid impact sure will screw things up, but we survived in the past by adapting, and we'll continue to adapt, and with technology we'd probably find ourselves with the ability to adapt to an expanding sun in a half billion years, and even a dying Universe in fifty billion years.
I also believe in protecting this planet, as while global warming may not wipe us out, it will cause tragedy. New York City will become like New Orleans, with levies keeping the ocean from flooding the streets, and hurricanes will be stronger and hit farther north - so a Katrina style disaster might hit NYC.
Sea levels have already risen enough to sink an island of 10,000 off the coast of India. |

Tell me about it, my office is already waist deep. I should have suspected something when our medical insurance added trenchfoot to its coverage.

Good question.
I tend to look at values as being keywords or keynumbers.
Some persons can describe their values in a short sentence such as:
God, family, and the Green Bay Packers,.
- Vince Lombardi
I tend to use a kind of theme mini-list such as:
Goal
Happiness
Harmony
Health
Love
Mission
Money
Prosperity
Success
Unity
Values
Victory
Vision
1,000,000
60,000
750
360
030
000
Project Title __________________________ to be accomplished by Definite Due Date (month/day/year)
and so on.
---
In terms of spiritual values, the religious science fiction story - The Pilgrim's Progress - to me is
full of basic values.

At one time, I was absorbed with the Star Trek series since its episodes often symbolically spoke to basic values followed by happy endings.
and so on.
Years ago I did read a book by Dale Carnegie which explained how many people thought and his people book did make a slight, small, and helpful change (not a cure) in a small part of my understanding of social relationships/social values in society as a whole.
Also, a book titled Nerves In Collision by Walter C. Alvarez, M.D. provided some insights into the general idea of consciousness, paying attention, concentration, focus, and memory for me.
I value the Alvarez book due to the validity of the insights contained in its pages.
As W.C. Fields, said:
A person has to believe in something. I believe I'll have another root beer.
