This is a rather prolific Internet meme and a damn fun one.

Here's how it works.

You grant the wish of the person above you but grant it in such a way that it is more trouble then it's worth and you make your own wish.

Example

Person 1: I want a new gaming computer

Person 2: Wish granted, but it's the demented lovechild of HAL and SKYNET.

I wish I was genius

Person 3: Wish granted, but the knowledge drives you insane

Try to keep it funny

I wish for a new car.

Granted, but it is a new car from MI6, the wiring is all wrong, so when you pump the accelerator, it might just activate the driver-side ejector seat.....and this car has no slide-back roof.

I wish for....immortality.

You live forever, but you still age. And you don't want to know what a 1,000 man looks like.

I wish for a new guitar.

((Off-topic Flagg, sorry to interrupt the flow, but I do know what a 900 year old looks like if they had their capacity to resist aging removed. Observe:

Well?))

granted, but the strings are made of razor-sharp wire that shreds your fingers when you try to play it... and it doesn't stay in tune... and the strings are proprietary so you can't switch them out... Twisted Evil

Granted, but you lose everyone close to you in a train crash.

I wish for the ability to possess bodies and stretch my conscience into all the bodies that I possess.

Done. However, the cost of constantly replacing your pants leaves you homeless on the street begging for quarters or at least used pants that are minimally soiled.

I wish I could control time.

I wish eternal suffering upon the wicked.
