Anyone else have OCD issues with clothing where they will pull at things repeatedly and adjust things repeatedly etc?

I have taken to wearing leggings(tight stretchy pants, just a little thicker than pantyhose for those in USA) as they are so comfy, but I am getting very OCD about the material being thinner where it stretches around my butt to where it stretches around thighs...very annoying as now I am repeatedly checking the density of the material in different places...an issue that probably goes back to my fears of being fat.

I am always pulling/tugging at my clothing in one way or another, but then I tend to play with my hair a lot also. Or if I'm wearing jewellery, I will play with and pull at that. I think I'm just fidgety.

My OCD issue here is with buying clothes, fussing with my wardrobe, reorganizing sock and undie drawers, etc., and it's twice as bad as you think because I don't discriminate between men's and women's clothing. I wear both and I'm a guy.

I pretty much devote every Sunday to my wardrobe. And right now I can't wait to get out of this class so I can go shopping again!

I try to wear them so that they are perfectly symmetrical. It sometimes takes me 5 minutes to put on socks because I have a hard time telling between a left sock and a right sock but I won't just stuff one on.

Aha, another clothesaholic.
I have had this issue lately, which is a real turnabout as in the past, I didn't give a toss what I wore as I didn't often bother to even change my clothes from one day to the next.
I have gone through an obsessive leggings buying phase...and an obsessive smock top buying phase, and am now in an obsessive jumper/jumper dress buying phase

That used to be me! I would wear the same jeans every day until they literally rotted away. I don't know what caused this total change in me. I gave up some bad habits three years ago (read: more spending money was available) and at the same time I inherited alot of clothes from an uncle who went to the pokey. He doesn't need them.

I realized his "style" was even more godawful than mine. I guess I subconsciously decided "I can do better than this," and now I can't stop.

You'd be disappointed then as it might only be in one area like piling up papers or books, while the rest of your life is in total chaos :P

Before I knew anything about Aspergers, years ago I had a terry cloth bath robe that I would lounge in while watching TV or whatever. I would constantly pull the little loops of thread out and wind them between my fingers into little balls like balling yarn and eventually rip them off. Soon, half the bathrobe was threadbare.
I still twist the hems of whatever piece of clothing I'm wearing into loops if I can. I guess like some do with their hair. I'm slowly embracing my newly diagnosed stims that I repressed for years. They are actually fun and calming.

I feel very uncomfortable in most clothing, and obviously my son has the same problem because he wants to be naked most of the time. 8O

I have an overflowing closet full of clothes, and a few mountains of clothes in other locations, and still nothing that I have is really working for me. It's definitely a problem. Right now I'm working on getting more clothing that is made from lyocell because that is a wonderfully soft fabric that I think has a lot of potential for me.

There is only one clothing item that I'm completely happy with, and that is my bamboo jersey knit sleep slip. It is awesome! I sell them too.

Sometimes I change my clothes 5 times in the morning because I just don't feel like wearing that thing today.
It's funny because I pretty much only wear band shirts.
But sometimes I get an ominous feeling about wearing certain band shirts. I'm not sure how to describe it. But like, someone might say something to me and I haven't been listening to them enough to wear the shirt and not look like a dink.

I also have a paranoid fear of someone seeing my hairy legs. I want to get leotards or whatever and wear them under my pants in case my pant leg goes up. I've tried buying really long socks but they keep falling down. One time I tried to hold them up with elastics but my feet went numb halfway though the day.

If things are tight on my shoulders or arms I can't wear them either.

If i like a certain style of clothes i have to buy 5 or 6 of the same thing so i would wear that style and nothing else.
I used to wear jeans all the time and long sleeve tops. I decided that i liked combat trousers so i had to buy enough
so i could just wear combat trousers and i cant wear jeans anymore at all.
If i decided to go back to wearing jeans then i wouldnt be able to wear the combat trousers at all.
Its the same with tops too.

I've been looking for something like this for years an answer as to why I do the things I do. Let me go through my ritual with my clothes.....when I sit down in a pair of shorts and t-shirt first my shorts MUST be over my knees I cannot have my knees showing at all whatsoever or I get anxious. With my shorts, I will pull the waist up over my stomach thinking it flattens the appearance of my stomach out. My t-shirt cannot be hanging loosely over my shorts I have a process that I do repeatedly all the time in which I start on the sides of the shirt tucking them into my shorts or underwear. I will leave the front untucked and I take that loose part tucking it into a shape that I think covers my stomach constantly taking the front out and doing that all over again.....I can't go 35 seconds without doing this. If I stand up and do something when I sti back down I MUST go through this entire ritual once again.....this simply drives me insane the anxiety I feel wishing I could stop.

Undershirts. I stretch them out so because I like seeing the bottom part and the top part underneath my shirt....but I'm getting better at not doing it because it ruins them. :?

I'm always pulling at my shirts and pants to "adjust" them, and I'm always picking hair and fuzzy things off my shirts.
