1) The telescope mod/hack in the Sims2 game. Sims looking through it are abducted by aliens.

2) The "Insiminator" from the same game. Instantly ages characters and makes any human type character pregnant.

Metroid Prime 2's Darkburst upgrade is pretty cool - especially as it drags your enemies into another dimension - as is the sniper rifle from Resident Evil 4 (making villagers' heads explode has never been so enjoyable Twisted Evil ). The Chicago Typewriter (a machine-gun) from the same game is awesome, as it allows you to sweep your field of fire from side to side and mow down swathes of baddies at once.

Yeah, that's a cool item, but can you use it continuously without having to press a button?

That's what I like about the hammer. That and it's comic.

The Chicago Typewriter is just another euphemism for the Tommy gun. It's just that it doesn't have the circular cartridge so enjoyed by Hollywood (I've seen a picture of the creator of the Tommy gun holding it with one hand with a normal-looking magazine.)

Legend of Zelda: Master Sword.
Mario: Jumping.
Sonic the Hedgehog: Chaos Control(Not really a weapon/item, but really cool nonetheless.)
Ratchet and Clank: Ryno.
Metroid: Phazon Beam
Pac-Man and Kirby: Eating.
Yoshi: Eating enemies, turning them into eggs, and killing other enemies with that egg.
