Location: New York
Hobbies and Interests: Internet, reading, writing and solitaire
Why are you here? I have PDD-NOS/hyperlexia
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): age 2, circa 1991
Favorite subjects: History and Software class
Year/Grade: 10th grade next fall
Favorite music: Nothing in particular, as long as it sounds good
Books: Flowers for Algernon, Lord of the Flies, The Chocolate War, the Almanac and several non-fiction books.
TV shows/Movies: I don't have a favorite one
Instrument: I play the tenorsax and I'm learning the piano
Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: I play basketball
Family: A mom and a dad. I have a 13 year old sister that isn't autistic or Asperger's.
Clothing: Mostly casual. I don't like anything that is too fancy or trendy. I still keep my wardrobe updated though
How did you find this website? Nuttdan gave me a link to wrongplanet.net
Job: Don't have one yet. I'm planning to work at the library.
Plans for the future? I want to be an author
Any comments? Nothing much to say. I enjoy this website very much and I hope all of you find this icebreaker fun.

Hobbies and Interests: gardening, cooking, animal rights, my cats, my rats
Why are you here? I have aspergers
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): yesterday, officially - though I've been playing with the idea for about a month
Favorite subjects: if I ever even consider going back to school you all have my permission to shoot me
Year/Grade: I have an M.S. in applied psychology and most of a Ph.D. in educational psychology
Favorite music: Acid rock/anything dark
Books: I don't have the patience to read
TV shows/Movies: Jaws, Jaws II (don't see three and four unless you are feeling really self destructive) - I also LOVE Salton Sea
Instrument: none
Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: weight lifting, pilates, and bike riding
Family: mother and father - I try to avoid them as much as possible
Clothing: male style - it has more pockets and is more comfortable
Job: unemployed - I got laid off because of funding cuts - right now I'm just looking - I may have a job as a 911 dispatcher

Hobbies and Interests: physics (quantum theory/computation), reading, good electronic music, anthropology, biking, cooking, stargazing.
Why are you here? I hope to find someone else who has some of the same aspie "symptoms" I do.
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I haven't been officially diagnosed because of my shyness about it, but im sure this is what I have.
Favorite subjects: physics, anthropology, envinromental sciences, logic.
Year/Grade: Soph in college.
Favorite music: Electronic, noise.
Books: Anything by Rand or Hofstadter.
TV shows/Movies: Ghost in the shell (stand alone complex), Ghost in the Shell 2, Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Instrument: Harp ( my favortive instrument but i dont play one ).
Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: Yes! Biking, running, inline skating, weight lifting and just about anything .
Family: My mother and my 4 year old brother.
Clothing: Cute and noting expensive, or sometimes a bit strange. I'm always wearing either running shoes or tall platforms
Job: Stocking at Target on the overnight shift.
What are you planning to do when you get older? Physics research or teaching physics, perhaps ill find a good guy.. live in a small house with a pool in a warm area, cook, read and do the things I love to do. |

Age: 17 (18 now, but I will not update it every year so my birthdate is actually Feb. 10th 1987)
Location: France
Hobbies and Interests: astronomy, mathematics, dinosaurs, movies and computers
Why are you here? gifted, ADHD and AS
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I am not officially diagnosed
(I have been 50% of the way to diagnosis)
Favorite music: classical, celtic, pop rock
Books: I have two favorite books which are novels. They are :
1. City, by Clifford D. Simak,
2. The parrot's theorem, by Denis Guedj.
I have also read a few other fiction books, especially science-fiction and The curious incident of the dog in the night-time, by Mark Haddon.
But mostly, I like to read essays, encyclopediae, and everything that has facts about things, that I can learn. I read a few magazines about science too.
Family: parents, brother who is eighteen (twenty, now...) and has no diagnosis except coolness

Why are you here? I am a gifted Aspie with extreme OCD traits and my doctor told me that it is a good idea to use Internet resources to communicate with other Aspies.

TV shows/Movies: I like Stargate SG-1 and whatever else I feel like watching.
Instrument: I have played several, but I prefer not to elaborate.
Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: I do not like sports.
Clothing: I wear cotton T-Shirts, shorts, soft pants that are not baggy and a hat. I don't wear suits or anything formal.

Job: Not at present. In the past I've worked as a caregiver in homes for children with intellectual and physical disabilities - a wonderful job - these children are usually the most non-judgmental types you could meet. Oddly enough, I have also been employed as a Social Skills Tutor for teens with AS for an organisation - I worked with Clinical Psychologists, a marvellous life lesson. The participants were all very wonderful individuals.
Plans for the future? Lecturer in Child Psychopathology
