Thank you for your intelligent post on the subject!
i have been afraid to ask my very AS-ish, left-handed mom, but in atttempting to observe her fingers, I believe she is the same way..
So...could excess pre-natal testoterone occur when the mom is a "male brained" aspie?...ya think??
or...if not, then what causes it?
I guess I should look this up. _________________ Winged Gnome Goddess prevent me from killing this thread

| My ring finger is longer, I'm bi, and I'm pretty sure I'm an Aspie. I've also read about PNT as well as differences between male and female brains. According to those descriptions, I think like a man (good with maps, not so good at expressing emotions and such). I've also read that AS is like an exagerated case of male-brain thought patterns. That seems a little simplistic, but who knows, maybe a lot of aspies were exposed to PNT. This stuff is really interesting to me. |

hello
well i voted that they were the same actually my ring fingers are slightly longer but by such a small amount that it is not really noticeable, well i am a lesbian, i was left handed but my primary school believed that this meant that you were spawn of the devil and mede me sit on my left hand all day long(i am only 32 i was not born in the victorian era) now i use my left hand for some things and my right for others, and although i have not been formally diagnosed i have been told it is highly likely i am an aspie, in my family the women all seem to have pcos with a high level of testosterone , there is also a high rate of adhd and spectrum disorders.........

| My index finger is definitely longer on my right hand, but they're pretty much the same length on my left hand. Now I feel all asymmentrical. |

wow...I am 32 too...were you raised in the U.S.? did you go to public school?
I was not ostracised in primary school for being left-handed...just ostracised for being weird in general. I wonder though if some particularly harsh treatment I received in first grade might have been because I was left-handed. I don't recall my hand dominance really ever being mentioned...but I was called a "little idiot" for not being able to tell my left from my right.
Only the online tests say I am most likely an Aspie...but my mom is very AS seeming...and she kinda seems to lean towards being more asexual than your average super-feminine type....
and although i prefer the company of men, I am sorta more asexual than...some really ultra-feminine types i guess....
also...i don't have too much excess hair, and my menstrual cycles are pretty regular, but i do have a difficulty losing weight and I am pretty sure I am infertile..so I might have pcos. _________________ Winged Gnome Goddess prevent me from killing this thread
