I am a playwright and the mother of a fourteen year old daughter with AS. I am writing a play about a mum with AS whose ex-husband is trying to get custody of their daughter. My character was stay at home mum but when her husband left her she had to go to work in a library. She has just been recently diagnosed with AS when her mum dies suddenly. In her grief and without her own mother to guide her, she starts to regress and retreat into a make believe world of play with her daughter. She becomes so obsessed with it that she starts forgetting to do things like cook dinner, send her daughter to bed on time, fill her daughter's prescriptions etc. Her ex husband decides she is an incapable mother and threatens to take the child away.
If there is anyone out there who has been through anything similar I would love to hear from you, just to know I am on the right track. I don't know if social services get involved or the courts?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks |

As for the social service part, I think that depends on what country you base it in. I heard that in the UK there are forced aboptions, where social workers have actauly taken children from their parents. Sad thing indeed when good people are involved. _________________ Removing objects and material out of our mental perspective leaves only the thought of our souls.
