ok well CLEARLY music isn't any of your special interests.... Rolling Eyes I think she's more interesting than any one else out there. Also, for some people to love something, other people have to hate it. For all of you to hate her so much, means she must be really special. I think I love her as intensely as you all hate her. Oh, I love music. Except I'm susceptible to earworms too easily so have had to tone down my listening over the last 9 months or so. I don't have to like someone to also like their music, I don't think very highly of Mariah Carey as a person but love her music.

I'm extremely susceptible to earworms too. I think thats why I love her music so much. It's all catchy. I love her as a person because she writes all her own music.

I personally don't have a thing for her music. But she sounds more interesting than your average pop star.

And her Bowie obsession Laughing

Anyone with even a very small amount of musical talent can make a catchy beat. It could be anyone singing over said beat. I'd give more credit to the guy making her beats or the guy composing her songs (I doubt she composes them herself).

She has a degree in music from NYU and was a songwriter for popular acts before she became a big name herself. I know, I was shocked too.

Having said that, it is still rubbish. Let's not confuse talent with the lowest common denominator. That's where the money is.

She doesn't compose them all by herself but she helps. She had to have written some of them totally by herself. She was performing some of her songs in clubs before she ever even had a producer. tongue

Yeah I agree completely, not many singers write their own songs.

The rest of the world seems to like Lady Gaga.

Some friends came over a month ago and used my computer to play Lady Gaga, Abba, and Tom Petty. Ugh. I'm not a fan of club music at all (Abba and Tom Petty I couldn't care one way or the other). My spring break was spent listening to top 40 radio since everyone else in the car insisted on it. It seems that in the real world, people want to hear Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga and T-Pain do what's been done for the past several years, instead of discovering bands on their own and experimenting with different types of music.
