I'm selling mine, even though I'd rather not. Money is just becoming too important in this declining economy, so I feel the need to cash in on the piano I inherited from my dad. I have another piano anyway, so I'll still have something to play, but it's not nearly as nice. I'm about to put the 5' 7" Steinway on Craigslist, as soon as I've taken a photo of it. It's in great shape, so I'm going to ask $20,000 for it, negotiable. Steinways on Craigslist range from $10,000 - 27,995.

...sides, the family has a 1915 Bluthner baby grand...

I think for something like a Stienway, you could probably get a better deal than through Craigslist... check around some piano stores, they might be able to give you some help. It's one of the best pianos made....

Meh, I think I'll keep it. Firstly, on close examination I realized that both the cabinet and bench have thin lines of missing paint on various corners and edges. Secondly, I don't need the money, and thirdly, I might as well keep it just because it's about the best piano I could ever hope to own, even though my desire to play is rather muted these days. I still love music just as much, but I simply prefer listening to it over performing it these days. And when/if the economy improves, I'd surely get more for it, should I then decide to sell it.

My thinking was, I could replace it with still a rather fine piano, while also having cash left over from the sale of the Steinway, since it's such a sought-after brand name.

Oh, darn, I was ready to buy it off you, I had my check book in hand ready to give you a offer, guess it is to late now

BTW, I am just joking, as first I would need a house to put it in, and then 20 thousand
But seriously, saying about the economy, but yet you got a 20 thousand dollar piano wall , and the poor suckers like me are living off of ramen noodles, and then I have to use the pan I cooked them in to catch some of the drips from the leaking roof, and you know what is funny, is that I would keep the cheaper piano and donate the steinway to a charity and play that cheaper piano like I never played it before, knowing that I did some good. lol, right?
