| I'm considering getting this game and am wondering if anyone has played it here. All the reviews I've read seem to say that it is an excellent game, but would like to hear some accounts of it from people who aren't authorized by game review sites to post. |

| I love the game. I don't generally like RTS games, but this game is more like Master of Orion/Galactic Civilisations/Civilisation than RTS. There is a greater emphasis on fleet battles than in a 4X game, though. It is a little daunting at first and it will take 1-2 playthroughs to understand all the mechanics at work and to start developing strategies, but once you've grasped the mechanics it's an incredibly satisfying and complex game to play. It is even better in multiplayer. If you get the game I will be happy to play you sometime. |

Sins is a great game if you're willing to dedicate an entire afternoon to one game (and that's for small maps)... it's definitely not for the ADHD crowd...
If you're going to get it, I also recommend the expansion... that adds a lot of cool mechanics to the game and makes it a lot more playable... _________________ My life: Making "your best" not good enough since 1988 |

I got it and I loved it. You can play it for hours and hours. It's very addicting and having so many things to do( research, commerce, battle, colonization, super weapons, etc.) it's very fun.
However, I feel that it does not have the longevity of some of my better games. The fun of the research wears out when you realize that most of it just increases weapon damage, hit points, income, etc. Compare the research tree to a game like Alpha Centauri, and it"s not that great. The commerce part of the game gets old quick. It becomes something you have to do instead of it being optional (On a big map anyway). I don't really like the way alliances work with the bots. Sometime it's just too easy to gain an alliance with a very powerful bot.
I will say that I like searching planets for artifacts.
Anyhow, I loved it but it got old. Also, I don't have the expansion, and I wish this game was more 3-d like homeworld. I might still get it out and play a game though. |

Is it outlawed in Sweden for some reason? If not http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw_0_8?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sins+of+a+solar+empire&x=0&y=0&sprefix=sins+of+
and the game itself can be bought and downloaded from the game's website too. http://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/store.aspx
Anyhow, I've now gotten the game and will be learning how to play it soon. Need to finish a written assignment and a reply post for college for this week in college though, which I may do tonight, but next week I have a whole new volley of homework too. College certainly requires a lot of writing.
Enigmatic_Oddity: I wont be able to play online for a while while I'm learning the controls and stuff, but in a couple weeks I may be able to. Your location is in Australia, though I don't know what territory. I live in Minnesota of the United States, which is currently on Daylight Savings time, called Central Daylight Time for the summer, GMT -5:00 I think and the time of this post here is about 9:12 PM on my clock. Let me know about scheduling. I'm currently unemployed, so my schedule for now is open. |
