I space out and daydream while putting returned items back on the shelves at the store where I work, and a customer comes up from behind asking a question and they have to repeat it cuz I was spaced out. _________________ Honour over deciet, merit over luck, courage over popularity, duty over entitlement...dont let the cliques fool you for they have no honour...only superficial deceit.

I used to do that alot in school, I have to be the only one ever who has been ordered by the teachers to stop reading the book in class. As soon as I started I zoned out (still reading somehow) and had no idea what they were talking about. ^^
Ones in 5:th grad we went on a trip to our Capital, and I started reading on a board on the subway and zoned out as I allways does when reading something and didn't noticed that the entire class left. When I came to I realised that I was the only person in that part of the system. Half way to finding the class again (they were very noisy) I ran into my teacher who had realised I wasn't in the group. ^^ _________________ Am I the only one thinking the Mods should identify themselves as such before they start banning people?

Hahahaha, oh my god, I get teary thinking about stuff like that too! XD;;; I feel so lame when it happens. OTL;; I can't remember anyone catching me though. I often walk into people though, usually backwards. Like backing away from a shelf at the grocery store. Does that count?;; It's spacey but not really spaced-out. _________________ "Things should be as simple as possible, but no simpler." - Albert Einstein |

I space out all the time. It doesn't embarrass me; I've learned to laugh at myself. Anyone who sees it will have forgotten it by the same time tomorrow, so why worry? _________________ Music Theory 101: Cadences.

I once spaced out while floating on an inflatable mattress at Nag's Head beach in North Carolina. I had been reading a book by Alan Watts about Zen Buddhism. I was thinking about what he had to say about clearing your mind of any thoughts. I guess I succeeded, since only after a long while of bobbing on the ocean did I notice that the entire crowd at the beach was yelling to get my attention. I had drifted out quite a way. There was no lifeguard on duty by the way. I simply paddled back to the beach, but when I got back, my friend and I decided to end our visit to the beach that day, since everyone was staring at me. _________________ "Reality is not made of if. I have space out moments all the time. Two weeks ago I spaced out in the presence of my grandma. She kept some monologue and I missed it all. _________________ Christians believe in The Holy Bible, Muslims believe in The Qur'aan and I believe in Mother Goose's Tale.

I'm sorry y'all, but some of these psots made me laugh so hard. I can totally relate to some of them.
I've walked into the glass dividers before too. Once it was at a candy store in the mall and I just didn't notice it until I hit it. The whole wall rattled and eveyone in the store stopped dead and stared at me like I'd lost my mind. Which, maybe I had. Hmm.
I space out in school all the time but rarely fail to recall the information the teacher was talking about at the time. I just can't figure out how that happens. Crazy but useful, I suppose. _________________ http://scarlet-tide.deviantart.com/

| I vaguely recall being in 4th grade and being asked an easy question during a trivia game while I was spaced out. I came to at the same time my teacher said 'we could send a limousine to get your attention and it probably wouldn't work' |

I spaced out at a machine shop I used to work at right before my boss turned on a blow torch. He saw I was zoning out so he popped the blowtorch on with the sparker really quick. It went on with a loud pop causing me to jump plus bring my hands up into a fighting stance to protect my face. My boss was laughing so hard he had to shut the blow torch off. _________________ There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. I think this state of mind is almost a secondary default form of consciousness for me. If I'm not actively reading or writing, I zone out a lot.
The weird part is when I keep talking to people or walking around while doing it. It's annoying when I agree to something or that I understand something when my own sensory input is basically a blur of impressions and I have no idea what's going on. |
