Prior to the death of the Dreamcast I was a staunch SEGA supporter but that isn't true anymore. The quality slip after the system died was just massive and really killed any dedication I had for this company.

Now, I'm pretty platform independent but my preference is anything but Nintendo. I would really love to see Nintendo release something of SNES era quality, but the likelihood of that happening is slim to none.

I have an XBOX 360, a Wii and a computer running Vista and Ubuntu. I've been playing my 360 more than my Wii because of the lack of good games out for it. Game developers need to utilize the Wii's gaming capabilities more so more hardcore gamers like me can enjoy it.

Just met the extremist console fanboys explaining to me why their 360 vs a ps3. They are sure a angry bunch. I'm actually a PC gamer... but I been waiting for a ps3 shipment to come in so I can get it and play my "ONE" game Razz.

I've been a staunch subscriber to Nintendo Power since the age of 5. My grandfather bought my sisters and I an SNES around the same time and I've bought every Nintendo console and handheld that's been released since then.

Yep. I'm a bit biased towards the Nintendo side of things. (:

Only about two years ago did I get a PS2. It's fantastic - So many games! But I still love Nintendo since they've been my good friend for so long. And they've released great stuff! The Gameboy? Amazing. N64? Still fantastically great fun, even today.

They do need to step up their game with the Wii, though. C'mon! The games could be amazing if they'd just utilize the system's capabilities for things other than WiiCheer and buzz-in game-show games(and the like). The motion sensor controls are so unique and yet they completely ignore them (I'm looking at you, Fire Emblem and Paper Mario!) or just make them do gimmicky things in gimmicky games (as mentioned above).
They didn't let me down on everything, of course. Twilight Princess was good and so was the Wii version of Resident Evil 4. But they could have made them even better!

It's like 3D movies. The pop-out visuals rarely enhance my enjoyment of the film since the film maker is usually so bent on being all "Ooooooh! It's popping out at yoooouuuuuuu!" instead of using the technology intelligently as a tool to properly immerse the viewer in the film's environment.

Ahem.
Sorry. I'm quite prone to rants. -_-''
So... yeah. In conclusion, I like Nintendo. Very Happy

Is "PS" supposed to be an abbreviation of PlayStation? I remember it being abbreviated to PSX, then PS2, then PSONE (the small replacement over the PSX)
To me the Xbox is not a console. It's a PC in a box. You CAN remove the parts and whack them in a PC with ease. It's much like a laptop really. The PSU looks like it can pull away similar to the PC and a simple replacement can be made. If anything, I'd be against the Xbox as MS weren't very good at Windows. I mean, if Windows was that good, then there wouldn't be a need for all these security updates, would there?
The Xbox's controller when it was first launched was a problem for me. It was too big and I had to slide my hands all the time which was enough to give me blisters. It's just as well, I never played that long really. I preferred the Japanese hand-controller instead as it was more do-able.

I have set configurations for games and hand controllers don't help me in anyway what-so-ever. If I had to choose, I would go for the PS2

Its funny how everyone instead of saying why fanboys get so defensive of their consoles or offensive to others, they are saying why they like thier console (computer) or why another is bad. I always heard the Playstation abreviated as PS or the PS1 if a proper destinction was needed. I don't think the Xbox is a computer on the side, it uses a controler with four controler ports and, mostly plays games, their could be just the same complaints for PS2 except Xbox has a hard drive and uses a more fun paid online system.

I agree the Wii should have more good games, the problem is that Nintendo has focused on the casual gamers who would not want to play the more maybe intense games on 360 and PS3. Because of this focus on these casuals the Wii is doing extremly well, on some interesting notes the Wii and PS3 are doing very well in Japan though 360 is not, but worldwide the 360 is doing quite well but the PS3 is strugling a bit, infact Activision was considering pulling suport on PS3. The 360 has its problems with such things as Red Ring of Death, the Wii isn't accommodating to its hardcore gamers and the PS3 is too expensive and lacks a lot of games, though the PS2 accomodates this quite well

Weird thing is, when "hardcore" Wii games come out (whatever that means), they don't sell very well.

Though I don't really see what the hooplah is all about...I mean sure Wii Fit is selling really, really well, but my collection seems to be chock full of Metroids, Zeldas, Marios, Resident Evils, Houses of the Dead...as well as the usual Guitar Heros and Rock Bands that can be had on any console.

While I own a PS3, the worst thing about it that the ports suck. Usually, everything has a better framerate on the xbox360 and sometimes better graphics as it's easier to develop for.

It is a bit unaccepotable realy, I would expect that the PS3 should be better the 360, though there are some good examples where the PS3 version is a some time afterwards, but some just havent given the love to the PS3 fans who shelfed out more money.

Always have been and always will be a SEGA fanperson. I love my Sega Master System II. Not to the point where it sleeps on the bed with me, but getting close Razz

I guess I prefer simple, bright graphics with cheesy 8-bit sound over the next-gen stuff.

PS3 is much more powerful than the 360 CPU... it doesn't matter though unless developers are good at developing for it though, hence bad framerates. As time goes on though, the ports get better.

I own an Xbox 360 and PS3. The Xbox gets much more time in because, for the most part, it has more must have exclusives and with the exception of Street Fighter IV, all multi platform games I get for the 360 because the controller is so much nicer and Xbox Live blows PSN away. That said, there are a good number of PS3 exclusives I enjoy and look forward to.

the only game I really want for Xbox 360 is Ninja gaiden 2. PS3 is getting it ported, but they are taking out most of the blood (!!!)... total BS.
